WAG: Week of June 8th

Thank you all for the energy and hard work you brought to the school this year. We continued to build a culture of readers and were able to read more that 80,000,000 words this year. We made great gains in SRI, moving from 80% multiple years below to 50%. Many students made over 100 points of growth. Guided reading is happening in all grades and kinder and 1st graders are reading! I look forward to our continued work together next year to ensure academic acceleration for all of our students.

Esperanza students and families take responsibility for their learning which allows them to be academically strong in two languages. With a growth mindset, they are unique individuals, who critically think and are determined to succeed. Students show respect for themselves, others and the environment.

Teachers engage in peer observations to receive and give constructive feedback. Teachers use data to drive instruction and make clear plans for corrective instruction. We engage the family and community in quarterly meetings to review growth and set goals.
