UPCOMING BOARD OF EDUCATION MEETING - THURSDAY, MARCH 30, 2023

The next Board of Education Meeting will be Thursday, March 30, 2023 at 7:00 p.m. Board meetings will continue to be streamed live and can be accessed on the website prior to the start of the meeting at www.sbschools.org.


We welcome and invite anyone who would like to make a public comment at any of our Board of Education meetings to please attend the in-person meeting. Although not required, the Board requests that residents who are interested in speaking at a Board meeting register with the Board Secretary's office prior to the meeting by calling (732) 297-7800, extension 3110 or by emailing marcia.garitano@sbschools.org. Residents will be heard during the portion of the meeting designated for public comment.

MAY 4, 2023 BOARD OF EDUCATION MEETING DATE ADDED TO CALENDAR

Please note that the South Brunswick Board of Education approved a revision to their meeting schedule for the 2022-2023 school year adding an additional meeting on Thursday, May 4, 2023 beginning at 7:00 p.m. At this meeting, the final School District Budget will be presented and adopted for the 2023-2024 scool year.

2023-2024 Preschool Program Update

The South Brunswick School District is seeking students for its 2023-2024 Preschool Program. Please complete your application of interest. If you previously submitted your interest and were not selected, you must submit again. Currently enrolled students do not need to submit applications of interest.

23RD ANNUAL STEP UP FOR THE ARC WALKATHON

The Arc Middlesex County is excited to announce our 23rd Annual Step Up for The Arc Walkathon– to be held on Saturday, April 29, 2023, in Woodlot Park, 124 New Road, Monmouth Junction, South Brunswick NJ.

SBHS MODEL UN WINS AWARD IN NEW YORK CITY

This past week the SBHS Model UN Team traveled to New York City for the National High School Model United Nations Conference. The team won an “Award of Excellence in the Category of Debate and Simulation.” Although the team won an “Award of Merit” twice in the past, this marks the highest achievement for the team in recent history. In addition, the team met with the Permanent Mission to the United Nations from Kazakhstan and participated in the closing ceremonies at the General Assembly. The Model UN team is advised by social studies teachers Samantha Saldanha-Kuncharam and Scott Wissocki.

DECA INTERNATIONAL MAKES SUCCESSFUL TRIP TO STATE CONFERENCE

Recently High School Club DECA, in it's second year, had a very successful trip to the State Conference/Competition in Atlantic City. 11 of the high school students qualified for the International Competition in Orlando next month! Congratulations and best of luck to students Bhargavi Karthikeyan, Bhavna Bangalore, Aairah Koujalgi, Advaith Boopalam, Rohan Patel, Keyan Patel, Harshini Dinesh , Satvik Modem, Ansh Rana, Nitya Ravinutala, Kareena Saxena.

SBPAL CHEER REGISTRATION IS NOW OPEN

SBPAL Cheer registration is now open! The program is open to children 3-12 years of age. There is a free clinic on April 20th. Please click here to view the flyer along with the link for the website and free clinic sign up.

SCHOOLS WILL NOT BE IN SESSION ON MONDAY, APRIL 10TH

Schools will not be in session on Monday, April 10th. The 2022-2023 school calendar had allowed for this date to be used as an emergency make-up day if schools were closed due to an emergency. We have not used any emergency closing days thus far, therefore schools will be closed.

REMINDER: ELEMENTARY STUDENTS ONLY EARLY RELEASE ON MARCH 27TH

Please remember that Monday, March 27th will be an early release day for ELEMENTARY SCHOOLS ONLY as per the 2022-2023 School Calendar to allow for Parent/Teacher Conferences.
