Principal's Message
Hello Wildcat families,
I'm sorry the newsletter is late today. I got a call from my son's school that he may have broken his leg. It turns out he is ok, just a bad sprain, but it's never fun to get those calls. Speaking of which, please make sure you have at least one emergency contact (in addition to parents if possible) listed in Infinite Campus. The school wasn't able to get me on my cell phone today because I was in a Pep Rally, but they called my mother-in-law and she was able to help.
On another note, our grade levels held their Words for Winners celebrations today. Each month, every homeroom teacher recognizes one student who has consistently been Respectful, Responsible and Ready to Learn. I had the privilege of being with 2nd grade today for their ceremony and it was touching to see the students celebrate their peers. We will have plenty more opportunities this year for our students to be acknowledged for their hard work and the positive ways they interact with others.
All the best,
Stephanie Haga

The National Anthem Project
Parents, you are invited to come SING our National Anthem, The Star-Spangled Banner, with our entire school community on September 15th at 7:55 am. This is a part of a multi-year project where our Music teacher, Ms. Morgan, teaches students to sing our National Anthem (which many You Tube videos can attest, is not an easy thing to do).
We will meet around the flag pole at the front of the school. The event will be short and sweet, but it is wonderful to have everyone together for a few minutes raising our voices in song. We hope to see you there!

Strong 4 Life
Curriculum Night September 29
Each homeroom teacher will host two sessions that evening so families with more than one child can meet with at least two of their children's teachers. If you only have one child here at Wilson Creek, you can choose which session best suits your schedule. The second session will be a repeat of session
5:30-6:15 pm Session 1
6:25-7:10 pm Session 2
During the sessions, you will hear from the principal, the PTO president and the SGC chair as well as your class room parent and of course, your child's teacher. This is also a great time to sign up for a conference with your child's teacher.
We hope you will plan to join us!
