Car Rider Arrival & Dismissal Reminders
Arrival and Dismissal procedures for Carline (and school) continue to flow smoothly - with Walkers average release time around 4 PM. Thanks for everyone's efforts in making this a safe process. Please be reminded:
ARRIVAL
- School Doors officially open at 8:45 AM.
- PLEASE have car-riders REMAIN in vehicles until staff is in place at 8:45 AM.
- Walkers will be assembling under the canopy by the front doors, but we request car-riders remain in vehicles so traffic is not moving while children are walking to school.
- We will have a crosswalk attendee supporting student walker arrival and traffic flow.
- Please keep your eyes open for student walkers and adhere to speed limit postings.
DISMISSAL
- Car-Rider dismissal takes place from our Gym Atrium Doors.
- Parents remain in vehicles at all times; a staff member will call the student to meet the vehicle in our pull-around spaces.
- **Please Use placards from those which were sent home on the first day of school. - fill-out with First & Last NAME and GRADE - place on dashboard in view for caller.
Absence Reporting Update - Families
In 21-22, the Central Bucks School District adjusted the way in which absences are reported. The system is continuing this year - please follow these protocols:
Key Points:
- Parents and guardians are able to submit absence requests via the Parent Portal. Parents can request a full day absence, early dismissal, or late arrival.
- Absence requests will be reviewed by school attendance staff and approved or denied.
- Requests made using the parent portal will also serve as the excuse for the absence. Parents will not be required to submit an excuse either electronic or written if on the portal.
- Parents and guardians may also still call or email the school to report an absence.
In addition, when a student is absent from school, but the school did not receive communication from the parent or guardian, the following communication will be sent:
- A text message will be sent at 10:30 AM notifying the parent or guardian of the absence.
- An email will also be sent at the same time reminding the parent or guardian that the student was marked absent.
- If the written notification is sent in error, please contact the school 267-893-4250 to resolve the conflict.
Please Note: Butler_Attendance is NO LONGER an option for reporting absences. Please email the teacher and the Attendance Secretary (Michele Droxler) mdroxler@cbsd.org.
Information regarding how to use the Parent Portal to report an absence can be found here.

Back to School Nights at Butler - 22-23
Butler Elementary hosted all of our Back to School
Nights in the first two-weeks of school - where each grade level teacher welcomed their families into classrooms to celebrate the start of the school year! Parents joined their child's classroom to learn more about the school day - including: highlights for the year, grade-level curriculum, daily routines, classroom expectations, and classroom/grade level events! Each meeting formally introduced the teachers to their families and is a wonderful event to launch into the year in a positive manner!
Instrumental Assemblies - Strings and Band
One of the most exciting opportunities for 4th,
5th, and 6th grades is the chance to play a musical instrument. Beginning in 4th grade, students learned about the options for playing a string instrument with Mrs. Hartzell, Butler's strings teacher. On September 1st, in 4th, 5th & 6th grades, Mrs. Hartzell and Mr. Robinson presented both strings and band instruments - as options for the upper intermediate students. Playing a musical instrument has benefits for all students including better memory skills, management of time, academic benefits, and listening skills! The Butler music department is a talented team who highlight our students talents and excitement for music!
