SPRING FEST
We would like to take this opportunity to thank our wonderful Spring Fest Committee, our parents, students, staff, volunteers and donors for a fabulous spring fundraiser at David Elementary. It was such a fun night and we could not have done it without each one of you!
We would like to give a special shout out to our Super Hero Sponsors, Black Walnut Café, Woodlands Creatives, Code Ninjas, SpeedPro Imaging, Hughes & Cozad Orthodontics, The Mike Seder Group Real Estate, Villa Sport, My Kid's Dentist & Orthodontics, Lauren Esposito, CFP - Morgan Stanley, and Dr. Kyle Scraborough, Master of Ceremonies. We really appreciate this level of sponsorship for our event.

SECOND GRADE FIELD TRIP
The second grade field trip to College Park High School to see “The Emperor's New Clothes,” will be held on Thursday, March 5th. Due to the limited amount of space in the auditorium, only teachers and one room parent per class will chaperone.
THIRD GRADE FIELD TRIP
The Third Grade Field Trip to Jones State Forest in Conroe will be held on Friday, April 3rd. Sign-ups for the chaperone lottery will begin on Wednesday, March 18th, and will end on Wednesday, March 25th. Because we have an obligation to chaperone the students in the class, it will not be possible to include siblings. You may sign up in person, call or email the front office at 281-298-4700 or slancaster@conroeisd.net or kimmount@conroeisd.net. Please do not email the teacher or room mom to sign up.
FIRST GRADE FIELD TRIP
The First Grade Field Trip to Little Beakers Science Lab will be held on Thursday, April 9th. Please note that there will only be two chaperones per class (one of which will be the room parent) for this field trip. Sign-ups for chaperones will begin on Wednesday, March 25th, and will end on Wednesday, April 1st. Because we have an obligation to chaperone the students in the class, it will not be possible to include siblings. You may sign up in person, call or email the front office at 281-298-4700 or slancaster@conroeisd.net or kimmount@conroeisd.net. Please do not e-mail the teacher or room mom to sign up.
SPRING PICTURES
Photo Texas will be here Thursday, March 26th, to take individual student spring pictures. Spring portraits will be taken on a proof basis. Approximately two to three weeks after portraits are taken, your student will receive a proof, which will include pricing and ordering information. You do not need to send in any money before picture day.
KINDERGARTEN PROGRAM
The Kindergarten Program, “Friends and Family,” will be held on Thursday, March 26th, at 2:00 and 6:00 p.m. An open house for parents will be held immediately following the evening performance. We look forward to seeing you then.

DAVID’S DREAM RUN
David’s Dream Run will be held on Saturday, May 2, 2020. Registration will open in March. This event is held to honor David Vetter’s dream to “run barefoot in the grass.” All proceeds from the one mile and 5K run/walk are donated to the David Clinic at Texas Children’s Hospital, Woodlands Campus. The David Clinic administers treatment and conducts research for children with Immune Deficient Disorders/Diseases. To date, the increase in funding and support has saved the lives of many children both right here in our own community and across the globe.
David’s Dream Run is a great way for the entire family to get involved in service to our community. So, mark your calendars, dust off your running shoes, and plan to attend/support this very special event! If you would like more information or if you would like to help out with the event, please contact Yvonne Larochelle (254.432.9127) or Sonya Dias (832.729.1766) or davidptodreamrun@gmail.com.
DAVID’S DREAM RUN SPONSORSHIP AND PLANNING MEETING
Would you like to have your business or family name on the back of the David‘s Dream Run t-shirt? Several sponsorship levels are available and must be submitted by March 20th to have your business or family name or logo on the back of the T-Shirt.
The success of David’s Dream Run depends on the support of local, corporate, and family sponsors. Your contribution honors the life of David Vetter and supplies lifesaving funds to further develop and administer treatment to children with severe immune depression related diseases. All contributions are tax deductible and the funds raised will be donated to the David Clinic at Texas Children’s Hospital, The Woodlands.
Please click on the button below for more information on sponsorship levels, incentives for each, and a registration/t-shirt order form. Checks can be made payable to: David Elementary PTO/Dream Run.If you are not able to contribute as a sponsor but know of someone who can, please, pass the information along.

BOX TOPS FOR EDUCATION
The online system for Box Tops will now allow you to scan your receipt and give credit to your child's class. You must, however, list your child's teacher along with the grade level. Please do not list your child's name on the app, just the teacher and grade level.
Our spring Box Tops collection for the 2019-2020 year is underway. Participation is easy. Simply clip the Box Tops from participating products, place them in a Ziploc bag or envelope (labeled with your child’s teacher’s name and grade), and have your student drop them in the collection bin located near the front office. Please mark your calendar for our spring submission deadline, Friday, May 15, 2020.
If you have any questions, please contact Carly Jones or Jennifer Whitney at DavidPTOvendor@gmail.com. We will list the top two classes per grade level in the newsletter each week. Please note that the following numbers include both clipped Box Tops and on-line scans. Standings as of Friday, February 28th, are:
