Scholarships will be awarded to high school seniors pursuing healthcare careers in post-secondary education settings.

Ed Bahler Sr. Innovation and Construction Scholarship
This AMAZING $20,000 Scholarship was created to contribute to our communities by assisting local graduating high school seniors entering college in one of the following disciplines:
- The School of Building Construction Management (BCM)
- The School of Agriculture in the academic departments of Engineering or Economics
- The School of Engineering

NATIONAL HOOK-UP OF BLACK WOMEN, INC: 2023 NWI CHAPTER Scholarship
Eligibility Requirements
- A graduating high school senior
- Proof of acceptance at an accredited college or university for the 2023 Fall Semester
- Accumulative grade point average (GPA) of 2.5 or better, documented by a seven (7) semester high school transcript
- Involvement in school and community activities
- Verification of at least 40 hours of community service
- Demonstration of written communication skills in a 450-500-word, typed and double-spaced essay on one of the topics listed below:
1. One of the goals of NHBW, Inc. is to provide a means to build better communities through service activities. Describe a community service organization and/or activity you have been involved in and why.
2. The NHBW, Inc. works throughout the year to help students reach their personal goals. Describe your goals for the future and how this scholarship will help you achieve those goals.
Additional Requirements
- Two (2) Letters of Recommendation (Letters from family members are not acceptable.)
- A recent photo with full name listed on back
- Personal Statement
Additional Special Considerations:
- Students who do not have a 2.5 average

NEW! 2023 NWI CHAPTER Special Scholarship in Memory of Dwayne Momon for Arts
Eligibility Requirements
- A graduating high school senior or returning college student

The Indiana Latino Institute - mulitple scholarships!
The Indiana Latino Institute has a partnership with 23 colleges and universities who will award up to 2 two full tuition scholarships to eligible Latino high school seniors who are accepted to their school and start August of 2023. They also must be a part of the Indiana Latino Institute's College Coaching Program. This is a free service. We can help your Latino students prepare for college applications and graduation.

2023 Indiana APWA Scholarship
The scholarship awards $1000.00 annually for 4 years provided that the student demonstrates continued progress toward a public works field degree. A paid annual membership to the American Public Works Association is included in the award.

Hobart Kiwanis Club Scholarship
Requirements
- Write a brief letter (description is attached)
- Three letters of recommendation
- Include a list of community service hours

St. Mary's Auxiliary Scholarship
This is a competitive financial assistance program, designed to help students reach their goals. Awards are based on academic achievement, a written essay and a successful interview. The scoring system is a blind/confidential process.
- High school seniors entering a university in fall 2023.
- Applicant must be enrolled in a two or more year accredited college program, seeking a postsecondary degree in any medical field related to the human body.
- Applicant must have a cumulative and current Grade Point Average of 3.0 or higher and be a United States citizen.

Applications may be submitted to the St. Mary Medical Center Gift Shop or mailed to:

Zach Gives Back Scholarship
One student will be awarded a $1,000 scholarship for the 2023–2024 school year.
Eligibility Requirements:
- Applicant must be a student enrolled at Purdue University Northwest.
- Applicant must have a minimum GPA of 3.0 (attach an official copy of transcript to this application).
- Applicant must be studying computer science or computer engineering as a major.
- Applicant must write a brief summary of anything that will provide a more complete picture of yourself including your personal aspirations, career and educational goals (no more than 1,000 words)

William and Louise Allen Scholarship
The William and Louise Allen Scholarship Program benefits students from Lake County, Indiana and the application is now available for students at your high school! The application is free and all applicant information is kept private. OFIC’s Scholarship Management Resources is supporting the Fifth Third Bank Foundation in the administration of this program.
The application deadline is May 5, 2023. An anticipated seven awards will be granted to students of these area high schools at the generous amount of $5,000 each for the upcoming academic year. Awards are available for the 2023-24 academic year.
Criteria:
· From Lake County, Indiana
· Attending a nonprofit college or university
· Attending the full 2023-24 academic year (fall and spring semesters)
Selection will be based upon:
· Scholastic achievement
· Good citizenship and character
· Financial need
We recommend students use an email address they will have access to after the school year. Email is usually how we will communicate with them, including for the opportunity to reapply for renewal. They do not have to complete the application in one sitting; they will receive an email with a link to log back in at a later time. Each time a student proceeds to a new page, the application saves.

Stop the Bleed Scholarship Program - Multiple Scholarships!
Requirements:
- In order to be eligible for the National Scholarships, you must be a student attending high school in the United States and its territories. Home schooled students who would otherwise be attending high school are also eligible. In order to be eligible for the Frontline Families Scholarships, you must have a parent or guardian who is a frontline worker.
- When you submit your application, you will receive an email confirmation and your parent/guardian and school point of contact will receive a notification.
- Students can apply once for the National Scholarships and, if eligible, can also apply for the Frontline Families Scholarships.
- If you are submitting a video, double check the URL before you add it to the application form to ensure it is working. Also, make sure you have the “public” setting for it turned on.
- If you are submitting an essay, include your name (first, last) and your email address at the top of the page.

Winning students for National Scholarships and the Frontline Families Scholarships will receive their scholarship monetary award by July 30, 2023, and their schools will be contacted to coordinate for the delivery of their Stop the Bleed Kits in September 2023.
The STOP THE BLEED® Day Project reserves the right to utilize any essay or video content submitted as part of an application for the purpose of promoting the STOP THE BLEED® campaign.

Kids Chance of Indiana
1. To begin the application process the student or the parent or guardian should open up the scholarship application (below). Hopefully, the process of filling out the application is is easy and all information requested is available to you. The determination of the amount of your scholarship is primarily based upon the financial needs of the student. Therefore the information concerning finances is extremely important and should be filled out in its entirety. It is also important that you provide information to us that you have attempted to seek the benefits of all federal grants, aids and loans.
2. Kids chance of Indiana has a special Scholarship Committee devoted to reviewing your application. One of the members of that committee will voluntarily spend the time necessary to make sure your application is in proper form and if necessary contact you for additional information. That individual is very important to the processing of your application and therefore please make sure you stay in contact with that individual.
3. Once the application is in final form, Kids Chance has developed a system whereby the approval of the application and the amount to be allocated to the scholarship is seamless and expeditious. From the time you have your application in final form to the time that you are informed of the amount of your scholarship, no more than 60 days should elapse, with some exceptions.
4. All scholarship funds are disbursed to the bursar’s office at your designated school.
5. In order to maintain your scholarship it is important that you maintain a satisfactory academic performance and send to your kids chance contact verification of class enrollment and your semester’s grade report. You must reapply every semester showing evidence of your continuation of an academic program and your recent past successes academically.

CAF Scholarships for Tradespeople (Northwest Indiana)
The CAF Scholarship for Tradespeople is intended to support construction trade professionals who are looking to earn their bachelor’s degree in Project Leadership at Purdue University Northwest. The CAF will distribute thousands of dollars of scholarship money every year to numerous construction trade workers. Scholarship amounts will vary based on the number of annual applications. The minimum amount awarded to scholarship winners will not be less than $1000.
Eligibility Requirements
- Award recipient must be a U.S. citizen
- Award recipient must be enrolled in the ‘Project Leadership’ bachelor’s degree program at Purdue University Northwest
- Award recipient must be at least a 3rd year apprentice at time of application
Use of Funds
Scholarship funds are restricted to tuition and associated registration fees. Payments will be made directly to Purdue upon receipt of an invoice for tuition.

CollegeBoard Opportunity Scholarships - Class of 2023
Earn entries in monthly drawings for $500 and $40,000 scholarships by completing steps to plan for life after high school. Every month, BigFuture will award hundreds of $500 scholarships and two $40,000 scholarships until February of your senior year. The scholarships awarded by BigFuture can be used at two and four year institutions.

How to file the FAFSA
Students can file the FAFSA online at FAFSA.gov. The first step for students who have not previously filed the FAFSA is to create a Federal Student Aid (FSA) ID. Then, each student will need:
- Social Security number
- Alien Registration number (for non-U.S. citizens)
- Federal income tax returns, W-2s and other records of money earned from 2021
- Bank statements and records of investments (if applicable)
- Records of untaxed income (if applicable)
The U.S. Department of Education provides email and live chat assistance for FAFSA filers as well as a helpline at 1-800-4-FED-AID. Hoosier families can also access free FAFSA help through INvestEd Indiana at www.investedindiana.org.
2023–24 Academic Year
The FAFSA form must be submitted by 11:59 p.m. CT on June 30, 2024. Any corrections or updates must be submitted by 11:59 p.m. CT on Sept. 14, 2024.
