Classroom Happenings

ELA- Mr. Jones

This week we continued our unit on Dystopian Fiction. We read the classic short story, “Harrison Bergeron” and determined which characters had power and how other characters responded to power, which is one major characteristic of Dystopian Fiction.

Next week we will read the short story, “The Lottery” and will discover how that Dystopian classic connects to our world.

Science- Mrs. Creath

Students began a project on Wednesday on how body systems work together to perform specific functions. The project is due next Tuesday (4/13), before class.

Students will share their projects with their classmates in order to take notes from others’ projects.

There will be a summative test the following week over body systems.

Please make sure you check the SIS portal for grades.

Please let me know if you have any questions.

Social Studies- Mr. Cahn

This week in our Economics Unit, students learned about trade between nations, money, and goods and services.

We wrapped up the week with a vocab activity to help prepare students for a vocab quiz that will be late next week.

One topic we’ll cover next week is different types of economies.
