A Note From Julie
You rock! Thanks for your leadership around information literacy and for directing people to the resources of World Book Online. (Tiah did a great job of pulling together 2014-2015 usage statistics and comparing them to the previous year.) For example, content views on World Book Kids increased MORE than 400,000 views over the previous year. There were about 65,000 MORE hits on the World Book Spanish Encyclopedia, and about 1 million MORE hits on World Book Timeline. Through your efforts to champion World Book Online, our efforts to tie World Book Online to the new units of study, and your efforts to identify and purchase the best databases for your schools, the Adams 12 learning community is able to access safe reliable information. Thanks for ALL of your contributions!

ISTE Information
ISTE 2016 will be in Denver beginning on June 26th and ending on June 29th. The Instructional Technology and Library Services department is offering a $200 registration scholarship to each elementary school tech teacher, middle school tech teacher, and member of the Digital Literacy Partnership (digital literacy teachers and digital literacy teacher librarians). The total cost to register will vary from $309 to $434 depending on whether the attendee is already a member of ISTE.
If you are going to take advantage of the scholarship offer and attend ISTE Denver 2016, please note that Desiree Lopez, secretary for the ITLS department, will be registering all scholarship recipients. Members of these three scholarship recipient groups must register through the process outlined below.
By April 20th you must deliver to Desiree at the ESC:
A completed paper copy of the ISTE registration form
Registration forms will be passed out during the February meetings.
Either a personal or check or the appropriate account code information
If YOU are paying the remainder of your registration, then please attach a personal check made out to Adams 12 Five Star Schools.
If your SCHOOL(S) are paying the remainder of your registration, then please have your office staff(s) supply the number(s) of the account to be charged and their contact information.
If you have already registered you must send proof of your registration to Desiree Lopez in order to be reimbursed the $200 registration scholarship.
Please note that other Adams 12 staff members are welcome to register using our Adams 12 group code, which will allow them to receive the Super Early Bird rate throughout the spring. We will be sharing this information with the entire system. You do not register using that code; YOU send your registration information to Desiree Lopez at the ESC.
