Great Things Happening in The6
Our students have been working hard throughout the quarter to master new material concepts in their classes. On select Fridays during Discovery, students engage in social-emotional activities to help keep address social-emotional needs. We are happy with the strides our students are making so far this year! Check out some of the cool things happening in The6.
#Guardians
Students on the Guardians team are loving SCIENCE π¬. Ms. Green keeps them actively engaged with hands-on activities and labs. Ask your child what kind of cool things they've done in science class thus far.
#Titans
ELA on the Titans team is quite the challenge. In Ms. Saunders class, students work hard, but she does take some time out to show them some techniques for stress. Yoga, deep breathing, and even donuts tend to help.
#Avengers
The newcomers on the Avengers team are having BLAST in Ms. McDonald's class. Can you imagine arriving in a new country, with no tools to communicate. We are so proud of how hard they are working.
1st Quarter Honor Roll
Door Decoration Competition
Students were challenged to a friendly competition to decorate their classroom doors representing countries from Latin America in celebration of Hispanic Heritage month. The students worked very hard and were extremely creative in their decorations. Students participated in hallway walk-throughs to observe each door and vote for their top picks. The winning class was announced on Friday and received a special donut treat from Ms. Scott.

In Case You Missed It (ICYMI)
Our Hispanic Heritage Celebration was amazing. Our student participation was OFF THE CHARTS! Students learned about Latin Legends, and shared their personal thoughts and reflections about what it means to have pride in their culture. If you were not able to join us on the night of the event, you missed a treat! In case you missed it, we compiled it into a short video clip. It's definitely worthwhile to watch it.
New Quarter = Clean Slate
Quarter 2 is now underway. We know that there may have been a few challenges as students acclimated to the return to school and navigating middle school, having multiple teachers & classes! The students have shown great resilience! A new quarter offers a fresh start and a CLEAN SLATE. Parents are integral in helping support student learning and academic success. We thank you for your continued efforts. Here are some tips to help encourage a successful Quarter 2.
