Grant Weekly Bulletin 1.17.2022
NEW COVID PROTOCOL GUIDANCE
Please make sure to read the district email sent out to the community today, Friday, Jan. 14, entitled COVID Updates. Quarantine timelines have been adjusted for both positive and close contact cases. Our goal continues to implement prevention measures while maintaining in-person learning.
CLOSE CONTACT AT SCHOOL
All students currently quarantined as a result of being a school-associated close contact to a positive case, AND are symptom-free, are eligible for immediate return.
Safety is our #1 priority at Grant Elementary. We know our parking lot is not perfect; however, we do our best every day to ensure the safety of our students. It has been shared with me by several parents that our 4 way stop/crossing area right before you enter Grant Elementary has been unsafe due to traffic plowing through when pedestrians are trying to cross the street. Please pack your patience during our arrival and dismissal as it would break our hearts if any student and/or parent was hurt based on unsafe travel. We know it's busy and we acknowledge that therefore please lookout for anyone crossing the street at that four-way stop as we are a pretty fabulous community that I love to serve.
We hope all our parents noticed the Wayne County Vaccine Clinic email that came out from Livonia Public Schools on January 11 to our families. Please take advantage if you can and make the best choice for your family. If you need more information please visit our livoniapublicschools.org website.
If/when your child(ren) are out for Close Contact to a student at school or test positive to COVID19 I will send home a Learning Plan through email to you. The teacher will gather materials and have them ready in our vestibule and/or post-classwork on Google Classroom. Our teachers have been working very hard to ensure that our students at home get what they need while they are out. Please take advantage of any work that you can get/do. Of course, if your child is sick we do not expect them to be doing school work. We want them to rest up and get better so they can return to Grant Elementary as soon as possible.
Please check out the livoniapublicschools.org website for bus cancellations this week as we have a morning and afternoon route canceled. It can be found under the announcement section for each week. Have a wonderful weekend!
