Gator Greetings
Students continued their great learning this week as teachers wrapped up the first quarter of instruction. Report cards will come home Friday, October 21st when we return from Fall Break. Students enjoyed the fall weather at our K-1 Gator Jam and then today at Fall Class parties. Thank you to all the parents who helped facilitate Fall Parties to celebrate the end of the quarter and the start of Fall Break.
When we return from Fall Break, we will have two full weeks left in the month of October. Our value for this month is Supportive. Teachers are looking for students who support one another to earn a special Gator Gold in addition to our core values of being Safe, Responsible, and Respectful. After school clubs will begin on Tuesday, October 18th or Thursday, October 20th. Clubs are very popular with our students and we are thrilled we were able to accommodate 250+ students in a variety of clubs such as Legos, robotics, choir, sports, and more. Please note that there is not a late bus available for this round of clubs, so all students participating in after school events will need to be picked up by a parent or guardian no later than 4:00pm.
Save the date for our Fall Bonfire hosted by the AV Dad’s Club on Friday, October 21st from 5:30-7:30pm. The Allisonville Fall Bonfire is an annual tradition full of family fun; you do not want to miss out! In addition to a roaring fire, there will be a hayride, DJ, s’more making, food trucks, and more. The event is free for all, but please bring extra money for food and concessions. All students should be accompanied by an adult. We are hoping for beautiful weather, but the rain date for this event is the following Friday, Oct. 28th. The Dad’s Club is in need of donations for supplies and parents to help set up and work the event. Please email if you are able to volunteer.
I wish everyone a fun and relaxing Fall Break. There is no school next week, October 10-14th. I hope you can enjoy this time as a family to rest and recharge while doing something fun for fall. We will return on October 17th for the start of 2nd Quarter.

Staff Spotlight
Mrs. Hess, 3rd Grade
Hi, I am Mrs. Hess, and I am excited to be here at Allisonville. I have a genuine love of learning and helping children grow as readers and problem solvers. Education and athletics have been a part of my life for over 20 years. I have served in various roles at many schools across the US - lacrosse coach, teacher, literacy specialist, and administration.
As a wife and mother of three amazing adults, I enjoy spending time with her family which includes her Tennessee Walking Horse, Dani and her 10-month-old beagle, Roxy. In my spare time, I enjoy the outdoors - running, hiking, skiing, relaxing by the pool, traveling, cheering for the Philadelphia Eagles, and just being with my people and pets. I'll be adding shoveling snow to her list of past times come winter.
Allisonville Elementary School is a wonderful school with gifted and dedicated teachers. I am grateful to be a Gator.
Mrs. Padilla, 3rd Grade
Hi, I’m Kim Padilla and I’m one of the new third grade teachers at Allisonville. I’m excited to be a Gator, and have enjoyed my time at Allisonville so far. My family moved here from California, where I have been a public school teacher for the past 25 years. I have taught mostly second grade, however, I’ve had several years of third grade mixed in.
My husband and I have two daughters and two rescue dogs. We are kept pretty busy with both of the girls’ extracurricular activities and our two pups, but during our free time we really like to travel. The farthest we’ve traveled has been to Bali, Indonesia. We like to explore new places and learn about new cultures. I also enjoy reading and spending time with friends.
It’s been a pleasure getting to know my students and the staff here at AV during the past two months, and I look forward to a great school year!
Social Worker Update
Miss Williamson, our school social worker, would like to spotlight several areas of support for students at Allisonville.
- Back Packs: Thank you to our community partner, Costco, for donating 400 backpacks for our students. All students in grades 2-5 received a free backpack this week. There are extras in the office for any student who did not get one.
- Buddy Bags: Thank you to our community partner, The Shalom Group, for providing buddy bags of groceries over Fall Break for families.
- Bully Safe: all students Grades K-5 received a Bully Safe lesson from AV office staff this week to learn about what is bullying and what we can do to eliminate bullying behavior from our school.
- Holiday Assistance: we have several faith-based partners who are providing holiday assistance to families in need this November and December. Please reach out to Miss Williamson directly if you would like some assistance with food or gifts this holiday season.
- Need to Know: please email Miss Williamson at swilliamson@msdwt.k12.in.us if there is anything that you would like the school to address or need to know about your child. We have staff at Allisonville to support social-emotional needs as well as many community resources to share.

Dad's Club Annual Bonfire
It's that time of year. The leaves are changing, it's getting cooler, and fall break is just around the corner. This can only mean one thing...it's time for our Annual Dad's Club Bonfire! Join us for an evening of fun on Friday, October 21st from 5:30pm to 7:30pm. We'll have a DJ for singing and dancing and food trucks on site for food and treats. See you there!
An event like this takes a lot of help from our Allisonville families. Please contact Bryan Naas or Matt Larner at allisonvilledads@gmail.com if you can help or have any questions. Thank you!
