How to Read with Your Child | Reading Lessons
Reading is Thinking
Please ask your child questions before, during, and after reading. This helps build comprehension skills. Have your child read 2-3 pages, STOP, and ask them questions. Example: I wonder why the character felt sad? Can you make a Text-to-Self Connection? Explain your connection to the book. Modeling your thinking will help your child be a successful reader.
