A Message from Your Principal
Dear Dewey Family,
November was a month in which we gathered to celebrate with family and friends in the spirit of thankfulness. Our Thanksgiving feast was a great success.
I would like to give a big congratulations to our Dewey Robotics FTC team 9384 and FTC Team 8087 for advancing to the super qualifiers!
Also, our Kickoff of Winter Sports had us welcoming rival teams. Be sure to check out the calendar of dates and come join the Cheerleaders! Be sure to scroll down and view the pictures from the event: It was a much-needed time of celebration for our Dewey community. To all of those who worked to make this event happen; from the food to the music, to the student and staff volunteers, I’m thankful to each of you. Your collective efforts made this event one to remember!
This month brings us even more to look forward to: our Pajama Day & Winter Wonderland event, the next set of Senior Spirit Day themes, our canned food drive and much more!
November’s 212-degree challenge was to “Find Time. Give Time,” where we worked to self-reflect and inspire those around us. I was overjoyed to see and read about all of the great ways in which you manifested this challenge. This December, I challenge you to be open to the opportunities our discomfort will afford us. This means to RISK, ATTEMPT, FAIL & SUCCEED as you step out of your comfort zone once more each week and create 50 additional opportunities for excitement, challenge and possibility each year. Be sure to look out for the QR codes around the building and in your classes to share and celebrate just how you meet this month’s challenge.
I’m looking forward to hearing about how you all "Dew" in risking and succeeding with this month’s challenge!.

Dear JDHS Rising Seniors and Families:
We look forward to having an exciting and fun filled school year as we anticipate the arrival of your graduation day on June 23, 2023. In order to provide you with a wonderful senior year and a memorable graduation ceremony, certain expenses must be covered. Below is the breakdown of the costs for senior year. Fundraising opportunity will be available beginning in September.
Senior Dues Package A - $250.00
Includes:
Graduation Cap, Gown, & Tassel, Diploma Case, T-Shirt, Keychain, Yearbook, #23 Senior Jersey, Hoodie, Senior BBQ (Event for cap & gown pick up) & Senior Breakfast (Event for yearbook pick up.)
Senior Dues Package B - $100.00
Includes:
Graduation Cap, Gown, & Tassel, Diploma Case, T-Shirt, Keychain. & Senior BBQ (Event for cap & gown pick up.)
EARLY BIRD SPECIAL:
Pay for SENIOR PACKAGE A IN FULL by Friday, October 28, 2022,
your Senior Jersey will be personalized with your last name.
Senior Dues does NOT cover Senior Ring, Senior Photos, Senior Trip, and Senior Prom.
Payments for Senior Rings go directly to the company, NOT to John Dewey HS!

Senior Prom:
Wednesday, June 7, 2023 at 6PM
Price: $200 per person. Payment due Friday, May 19, 2023.

NO PROM PAYMENTS WILL BE ACCEPTED UNTIL SENIOR DUES ARE PAID IN FULL.
Graduation:
Friday, June 23, 2023 at 9AM. Graduates must report at 8AM.

This is a ticketed event. Each graduate will be allowed three guests.
Payments can be made by cash or money orders only. A receipt is always given. Please make money orders payable to: John Dewey High School. Make sure the student’s name is on the money order.
THERE ARE ABSOLUTELY NO REFUNDS!
There will be no refunds given due to the reason of not fulfilling the New York State graduation requirements.
Cap and gown will be released and given to each student after they have been certified as a graduate.
