Second Grade
Grapevine Elementary
Week of September 8, 2015
Students need headphones/ear buds ASAP. We have iStation testing this week and kids must have headphones.
Remember to send a water bottle daily with your child. Kids need to stay hydrated with this heat. Healthy snacks are encouraged. Thanks for sending in sliced apples and peeled oranges instead of whole fruit. This makes snack time easier.
Important Dates and Reminders
School Arrival/ Dismissal
Last week we started our new walker dismissal stations. Please pick up your child from the correct walker station so we are not having parents and students walking in front of the car riders.
ATTENDANCE
Please email the office (Heather Hedges ) and the homeroom teacher if your child is going to be leaving early or is absent that day.
Please remember that school begins at 7:45 am. Students need to be in classrooms by 7:45. If your child is dropped off at 7:35, but is not in the classroom by 7:45, he/she will be counted tardy. Please make sure you remind your child (as we do here at school) to come straight to class when they are dropped off.
School is dismissed daily at 2:45, however, it is important to stress that we will not be leaving our classrooms until 2:45. In the past, students were exiting the school building at this time, however, district-wide, all campuses are keeping students in classrooms until 2:45. This maximizes the amount of instructional time and helps cut down on minutes spent packing up at the end of the day. As soon as the 2:45 bell rings, we will all make sure your child is out and ready to go home as quickly as possible. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation.
