Students were broken up into the Greek city-states of Athens, Sparta, Troy, Delphi, Marathon, and Thermopylae to compete in Olympic Relays with a Greek Flair. The competition was tough in the following events: Achilles' Heal, Apollo's Chariot, Rings of Olympus, Zeus' Lightening Ball, and Athena's Revenge. A fantastic time was had by all. OPA!

Fallsington Elementary School Outdoor Spring Projects
The Fallsington Elementary School community has been working hard and having fun with some exciting spring projects!
On the morning of Saturday, April 9, a small team of volunteers came out to begin prep work for their new Learning Garden. Special thanks to Melanie Douty (Farmer Mel from Snipes Farm and Education Center), Mr. Obert-Thorn (2nd Grade Teacher and Learning Garden Coordinator), Kitty Taylor and family, Mrs. Kalikota, Mrs. Kelley and Caden, Mrs. Sinkiewicz, and Jacob and Julianna DePaola. Melanie Douty also spent two weeks facilitating gardening lessons with second and third grade classes.
These volunteers reframed two garden beds and split them into four smaller beds so they will be easier to access and maintain. They removed all of the weeds and overgrown items, tilled all of the soil, and added some new soil. The day went from sunny to steady rain, but ended with a beautiful blue sky. Click here to view pictures of the garden progress.
On the morning of Saturday, April 23, another small team of volunteers came out to build a gaga court for Fallsington's playground area. Special thanks to Mr. Zadnik, Mrs. Kubitsky, Mr. Sutor, Mr. Kwasniewski, and to the PTO for donating the funds to make this possible! Gaga ball is dubbed a kinder, gentler version of dodgeball. It's fun, easy, and everyone enjoys a good workout. To learn more about gaga ball, click here.
