Principal's Message
Here we are in the last few days of September. It is amazing how fast things move around here. The weather lately has been wonderful and the staff and students are outside learning and playing.
Please take a minute to look over this newsletter, if you didn't see the email the other day from our amazing PTO, I linked it here as well. I ask that you make sure that you have your PTO membership in as they are wrapping up the drive this week.
We ask that you continue to be mindful of the Madeira Promise and monitor your student's health as we enter allergy, cold, and flu season. We are working pretty hard to keep things moving in the right direction.

There are new updates for Madeira Youth Wrestling and Madeira Mustangs(K-2) basketball.
MADEIRA YOUTH WRESTLING is open to all students from grades K – 6 at REGISTRATION. Practices will be held on Monday-Thursday between 5:30 pm – 8:00 pm in the Madeira High School Wrestling Room. Tournaments are generally held on Sundays from mid-November to late-January. No prior experience is necessary and participation in tournaments is completely optional. The participation fee is $100 for a single wrestler with discounts available for multiple siblings. For additional information contact Cdavidson@madeiracityschools.org.
MADEIRA * BOYS K-2ND GRADE MIGHTY MUSTANGS WINTER BASKETBALL PROGRAM 2021-2022
K-2nd - Mighty Mustangs Winter Skills Program 2021-2022 (9 Sessions) Purpose - All our K-2nd grade boys have an opportunity to learn the basics of basketball and have fun with classmates. FOR: Kindergarten - Skill Development (Too young for games) (Limit to 40) 1st and 2nd Grade Boys – Skill Development & Games (Limit to 40 per grade) * A girls program will be added at a later date by the high school girls basketball team. Info will be sent out through MES online server once that is organized. * Open to any K-2nd grade student with a Madeira Connection (MES, St. Gertrude, homeschooled, business owner or other Madeira connection) NEW FOR 2021-2022 - The program will be at two locations this year to lessen overlap by age groups. MADEIRA ELEMENTARY (K and 2nd ONLY) Kindergarten Time - Always 8:45am to 9:30am (45 Minutes) * skill development & introduction to the sport / no 5 on 5 games 2nd Grade - Always - 9:45am-10:45am * 30 Minutes skill development / 30 minute developmental game * Time Could Change Depending on Number of participants MADEIRA MIDDLE SCHOOL (1st Grade ONLY) 1st Grade ONLY - 8:30am - 9:30am * 30 Minute skill development / 30 minute developmental game * Time Could Change Depending on Number of participants DATES: (9 Dates) November - 11/20 (OFF 11/27 Because of Thanksgiving Weekend December - 12/4, 12/11, 12/18 Off Saturday, December 25th & January 1st January - 1/8, 1/15, 1/22, 1/29 February - 2/5 * 2/12 added only if weather causes a cancelation WHERE:WHERE: @ Madeira Middle School (1st Grade ONLY) DIRECTED BY: Rick Rockwell - Varsity Head Coach - ASSISTED BY: Aaron Harding (JV), Steven Schloss (Assistant), and Current Players on the Madeira Mustangs Varsity, JV and 9th grade Teams. ** All District Covid-19 policies and recommendations will be followed in the Mighty Mustang K-2nd grade program.
