Dear Rose Families,
It feels unbelievable that this is the last full week of school before winter break and we are looking at 2022 dates on the calendar as we plan the next part of the school year. There is definitely a buzz in the air as students share their plans over break and talk about all the fun things they want to do. Please read below for important school and district news.
Student Council is sponsoring a Spirit Week. Please see the attached flyer for details of the daily themes. Winter Wonderland Spirit Week
Good-bye Nurse DiVito! It is bittersweet to share the news that Nurse DiVito is moving and will no longer be at Rose School. Her last day at Rose is December 22nd. We will miss her and appreciate all of the care and support she has provided to keep our Stingrays safe and healthy, and wish her all the best in the next chapter of her life!
This fall the 3rd grade extended math students formed a team with North Barrington students and competed in the Noetic math competition. They were required to complete 20 challenging math problems in 45 minutes.
There were about 23,000 participants in this year's fall contest. Students who scored in the top 50% received an Honorable Mention certificate and a ribbon. The Stingrays who earned this recognition are Blake, Sahasra, Luke, and Jay! Students who scored in the top 10% received a National Honorable Mention certificate and a medal. The Stingrays who earned this recognition are Derrick and Abbas! Derrick and Abbas also tied for team winner of the class. Congratulations to everyone for all their hard work.
Congratulations to the winners of the Barrington Giving Day Lego Guessing. There were a total of 678 Legos in the jar. The winners were Genevieve in 5th grade with a guess of 672 and Piper in 3rd grade with a guess of 660. Good guestimating girls! Thank you to everyone who donated to Barrington Giving Day. Your generosity is appreciated.
Holidays Around the World - In place of our yearly field trip to Marriott Theatre, we’re excited to have a touring theatre group (Bright Star) come tomorrow to present Holidays Around the World in 3 performances so we can socially distance. If you haven’t already made payment of $5/child, please click on this link BR Performance 12/16/21 Holidays Around the World now to make payment before tomorrow. Thank you to those who have already made payment.
Ever in need of a babysitter? Well next time you need one, Sitter Hub LLC is there to help. Sitter Hub is a babysitting service that connects parents with reliable high school sitters in the hyper-local Barrington community. To book a sitting job, all you need to do is go to their website (www.sitter-hub.com), tap either the “Book Now” button or the “Scheduling” tab, and fill out the information asked (such as the date and time of the job you need), then you’re all set! Once your request is sent in, Sitter Hub will reach out to their sitters and find someone that can work that job. They will then send you those sitters’ profiles (which have their name, age, certifications, and extra information)! From there, you choose which sitter you’d like, let Sitter Hub know, and they’ll send you their contact information. Then, you reach out to that sitter with your address and anything else you’d want them to know ahead of time! Sitter rates are $12/hr with an additional $2/hr for every additional kid. With the holidays coming close and schedules getting busier, Sitter Hub is there to help!
COVID Updates - We have two positive student COVID cases reported at Rose School this week. You can also check the district COVID Dashboard for up-to-date district COVID information if you have additional questions about positive cases and quarantines.
Have a wonderful week!
Warmly,
