Office 365
Collaboration - WOW!
What I learned.
O365 is cloud based. This means you can access programs like Outlook, OneDrive (formerly SkyDrive), SharePoint and Lync online or from your desktop. Companies large and small, like Sephora and Two Camels Film respectively, have switched to O365 because the platform made it possible for them to change the way they do business. For both companies, this Microsoft platform facilitated the virtual office with many conveniences: the employees did not have to be stuck to their desks to send emails and share files, and they could video chat with team members for minimal costs.
Sending e-mail using Outlook
Outlook is a feature of O365. You can send email from your desktop or from the web-based Outlook. What's great is that both databases, desktop and web version, update automatically.
Video chats using Lync
This feature is cost effective for companies: time and travel cost is reduced. Meeting participants can share their desktop and files with ease during these meetings. Productivity increases because the chance to forget something at your workspace is minimized since travel was not required to join the meeting.
SharePoint document sharing
Another way to share information with team members is by placing documents on SharePoint. SharePoint also makes it easy for everyone to be in synch about the project goals and has a calendar functionality to show team activity.
