Friendship Week at Meadowview

April 23rd to April 27th

Friendships are Blooming at Meadowview!

The goal and purpose of this week is for our student to gain a better understanding of what FRIENDSHIP means as well as practice ways to BE a better FRIEND!

Wear Yellow on Thursday April 26th

Yellow is the color of friendship! Everyone is encouraged to wear yellow on Thursday April 26th when we have our friendship lunch! Our friendship lunch will take the place of mix it up lunch and we will have our buddies each lunch together! On this day, 1st lunch will be kindergarten, 2nd grade, 3rd grade & 5th grade! Second lunch will be 1st grade, 4th grade & 6th grade!

Buddy Recess on Thursday April 26th

RIght after our Buddy Lunch, we'll have Buddy Recess on the primary side! There will be some games the students will be able to play with their buddies! All these games will have a friendship theme! We will also have a photo booth! If you have a few moments to help out, we would love your help. Please come to the office to sign in first! Be sure to check the lunch times above, they will be a little different!

Door Decorating Contest

Classrooms will decorate their doors with the theme of "friendship." The doors will be judged on morning of April 27th and must include "Circle of Friendship."

Read Alouds & Writing / Drawing

During the week, teachers will read books aloud to students and students will write or draw their reflections about the books.

Friendship Tree

Each student will get a leaf and will write on the leaf what they look for in a friend. We will make a tree with branches/vines all around the main hallway!

Additional Classroom Activities

Classroom teachers will choose from these activities to do with their classes all week long:

  • Make friendship bracelets out of straws
  • Make tissue paper flowers to give to friends or buddies
  • Make friendship clouds
  • Go on a friendship scavenger hunt
  • Make a friendship pizza
  • Play Friendship Jeopardy
  • Make "My Ideal Friend" puppet
  • Create a "Buddy" handshake
