Clio Middle School
January 2022
Welcome Back!
I hope all of you enjoyed this time off and were able to spend some quality time with your families. I certainly enjoyed being able to sleep in a bit and spend time with my kids, Lily and Ben. I also used this time to reflect on how much has changed over the course of the past couple of years. I am amazed at how strong and resilient our students have been from the start. From zoom meetings, lengthy quarantine/isolation periods, social distancing, COVID testing, and wearing masks all day every day. It has been a rough road, and from where I stand, our kids have done an exceptional job! This goes without saying that none of this would be possible without the love and support you have given your children. We truly appreciate all of you!
I want to point out where our students were when all of this began (see the last normal school year pic). It really puts things into perspective when you think about how much of a normal school experience our students have missed out on. This reminds me to be patient and understand, both as an assistant principal and as a mom, that our children may not have been taught the necessary skills needed to be academically and emotionally prepared for the grade they are in now.
Thankfully, CMS has amazing teachers who are committed to helping us bridge the gap! We are committed to working with parents to create a culture of collaboration and teamwork and are available to discuss any concerns you have about your child's progress in school. Please don't ever hesitate to reach out. We value your input!
Again, thank you for all you do for your children!
