Dear Vista Springs Families


It has been a big week of growth and celebrations for us! If you didn’t hear, Springs Charters was recognized for the Above and Beyond Award by the National Alliance for Public Charter Schools. We are only one of 10 schools in the nation to be recognized and the only one in California. Check it out here!


Here are some other tips and updates:


  • Thursday, May 21st 4pm, Science Fair projects are due! For 3rd - 8th grade students, our virtual science fair is coming up.

    • Google Slides or PowerPoint presentations need to be uploaded to the Science Fair Canvas course. Parents please check with your child’s teacher or Ms. Allison (allison.greene@springscs.org) if you have any questions or concerns

    • May 21-May 27th, teachers and myself will review the presentations

    • Wednesday, May 27th at 3:00 pm for our Virtual science fair presentation for families and friends. We will be doing it virtually. Students and parents can join the virtual presentation and watch. The link will be sent in next week’s newsletter.


  • School calendar for next year - School is scheduled to open August 20th.

    • We want to be prepared for what State and County government leaders tell us in terms of how to reopen school. So, we are planning several contingencies of how coming back to school might happen. We will share when we know more, but in the meantime, we would like to hear from you!

    • Parent Survey Coming -- Do you have concerns or preferences for when and how students come back to campus? Watch your email for a parent survey from Springs Charter Schools to ask for your input. We want to know your input- do you want your child to come back to school full time, could you manage 2 or 3 days a week or do you prefer half-days, do you have health considerations that would keep your student home full time, etc. Please look for the survey early next week and submit your response!


  • Spring and Promotion Pictures are here! If you ordered pictures for your student, they have arrived. They will be available for pick up at the lunch drive through line, Monday, Wednesday and Friday, 11-12pm. If you need other arrangements, please call the office or email Ms. Jeni at jeni.magner@springscs.org


  • Scholastic Virtual BookFair- Are you looking for some new books for your students to read? Do they have anyone who wants to get them a gift?

  • 8th grade and Kinder Promotion- Thank you all for sending in pictures and comments from your students! We will be doing a live zoom promotion presentation on June 11th, so save the date! We will send out the link the week before.


  • Thursday 12:30, Weekly hangout for parents - Join Ms. Sarah on a weekly hangout to hear any updates with the school and how learning is going, ask any questions or share any ideas or concerns you have, or simply get some support and encouragement from other parents. You all are doing a lot right now and trying to make sure your kids are learning at home can be hard! Join us for encouragement, venting or simply a place to check-in and share ideas each week. Conversation in Spanish and English.

¡Ha sido una gran semana de crecimiento y celebraciones para nosotros! Si no escuchó, Springs Charters fue reconocida con el Premio Above and Beyond por la Alianza Nacional para Escuelas Públicas Charter. Aquí hay algunos otros consejos y actualizaciones:

  • La Sra.
