The three withes are to blame for Macbeth's downfall because they tend to influence Macbeth's fate. Macbeth has fallen in the temptation of being King of Scotland by the three witches. The witches will make a magic potion that with guide Macbeth's fate by telling to the future. "Scale of dragon, tooth of wolf, Witches' mummy, maw and gulf Of the ravined salt-sea shark, Root of hemlock digged i' th' dark, Liver of blaspheming Jew, Gall of goat and slips of yew Slivered in the moon’s eclipse, Nose of Turk and Tartar’s lips, Finger of birth-strangled babe Ditch-delivered by a drab, Make the gruel thick and slab. Add thereto a tiger’s chaudron, For the ingredients of our cauldron"(Shakespeare act 4, scene 1). "Pour in sow’s blood, that hath eaten Her nine farrow; grease that’s sweaten From the murderer’s gibbet throw(Shakespeare act 4, scene 1).

The image of the raven makes sense because ravens were usually seen cleaning the hones of people who had been taken away. Duncan is going to die and it is as if the raven accepts the meal he might make of Duncan’s corpse. For example, Lady Macbeth says,“The raven himself is hoarse The croaks the fatal entrance of Duncan”(Shakespeare act 1, scene 5).
