Harvey and Irma Donations and Assistance
If you would like to help our neighbors who have lost their homes and belongings to the recent hurricanes, the American Red Cross is accepting donations on its website. In addition, donations to the Salvation Army can be made online or by calling 1-800-SAL-ARMY (1-800-725-2769) or texting STORM to 51555.
Book Fair News
Monday, students may shop during lunches.
Tuesday, 8th grade students shop during ELA classes.
Tuesday after school, parents may shop with their students until 4:15.
Wednesday, 6th grade students shop during ELA classes.
Thursday, 7th grade students shop during ELA classes.
Friday, students may shop during lunches.
Parents, if you would like to volunteer during the book fair, please email Mrs. Spencer.
If you prefer to shop from home, the Online Book Fair is available September 13th - September 26th.

6th Grade Drama Acts Up
WyldLife at Lunch
Clemson University Young Life members who participate in WyldLife for middle school students often visit Southwood Academy during the lunch periods. They like to get to know students, talk to them about their days, and encourage them through their middle years. There are camps and after school activities that are optional if students and parents are interested.
PSAT Opportunity for 8th Grade Students
8th Grade Field Trip - AOP
8th Grade Field Trip - Othello
The 8th grade students will go the Peace Center to see Othello November 6th during the school day (10:45 - 2:30). The cost for the field trip is $15 per student. Ms. Alden will be in the cafeteria in the mornings to collect ticket money. Permission forms for the trip will be distributed during social studies class.
6th Grade Students and T-DAP Vaccines
6th graders will need to get the T-DAP immunization BEFORE they begin the 7th grade! Please schedule your appointment early; the heath department is only providing immunizations a few days a month.
After your 6th grader receives the immunization, please get the SC Department of Immunization record and turn it in to Robin Rosa as soon as possible. For more information, please email our school nurse, Robin Rosa.
Students must pay the deposit to reserve a DC field trip spot. Hurry, there are only a few spots left!
