Principal's Message
We hope everyone had a great holiday break with your families. We are happy to be back and heading toward another stretch of great learning at OTES.
We hope you will join us at the Holiday Bazaar on Saturday, December 1 from 9 am to 2 pm. If you want to volunteer for this event, here's the link to help: http://signup.com/go/aLHXDDJ
We try to keep our expectations and procedures the same during the holiday season, but also have a little fun with our students during this time. We have developed some "Dress Up" days to celebrate during the Week before the holiday break (December 17-21)
Here are the days to look forward to:
Monday, December 17: Wear your Red and Green Colors
Tuesday, December 18: Holiday Socks
Wednesday, December 19: Wear a peaceful message on your shirt
Thursday, December 19: Wear a holiday outfit (could be PJs, Sweater, or Dress)
Friday, December 20: SPARKLE DAY
Log your volunteer hours here:

We are hoping our families will log at least 10 hours of support for our school this year.
Looking Back
We celebrated Learners Are Leaders this week. This month we were looking for Patient, Persistent, Problem Solvers and had many to choose from. Go on our Facebook Page to see our monthly winners. This next month we will look for the following criteria:
December: “Good Vibes” and Provide A Special Sparkle:
Students freely share their talents and skills with the classroom
Students’ positive outlook makes the school a better place to be
Students are always looking on the bright side of life
Students encourage and bring out the best in others
Looking Ahead to the Week of December 3-7
December 3: Day 6
December 4: Day 1 Swimming at Y (Stevens/Bryant)
December 5: Day 2 After School Programming, PTC meeting at 6 pm
December 6: Day 3 Swimming at Y (Keane/Vose) K-Kids 3rd and 5th Graders
December 7: Day 4 Report Cards go home
If you are a parent of a 4th Graders, students will be selected for the National Assessment of Education Progress (NAEP) testing in February of 2019. We will provide more information later, but wanted to give you a heads up to this one day testing session.
