Absences and substitutes
Please make sure that if you are going to be out sick that you put in your absences ASAP. It is important for us to have an opportunity to get those jobs filled and the earlier they are put in, the more likely it is for the job to be picked up. The morning of an absence and the closer it is to your arrival time it is very difficult to have subs fill those positions.
Working with the Office of Planning, Innovation and Accountability, it was determined that the fill rate across the division was 93 percent when the duration needed was seven hours or more. However, the fill rate dropped to 85 percent when the duration was less than seven hours. It can be concluded that most substitute teachers seem to prefer to work full day positions. If you need to be absent, please take these things into consideration. Let Mrs. Lewis or Mrs. Metzger know if you need any assistance. Thank you!
Proper Handling and Care of Your Chromebook
Please share this information with your students. The most frequent Chromebook repairs are for cracked screens (2,817) and damaged keyboards (1,271). With tens of thousands of devices in use on any given day, it is inevitable that accidents will happen and devices will fail. Maintenance and repairs are expected and well managed by our Field Services team. However, proactive care of 1:1 devices can help reduce repair costs and save the school division a substantial amount of money.
