Winter Tracking with the Westminster Conservation Commission

Join the Westminster Conservation Commission for a winter tracking activityon Saturday, March 11 (weather event date is Sunday March 12). We will meet at the Westminster West School and walk to local fields, wetlands and wooded hills to explore. Local naturalist Martha Mitchell will help to lead our explorations, and share information about the tracks we discover. Snowshoes are optional. As it will be mid March, waterproof boots are recommended. Bring tracking guides and a tape measure if you have them. The first half of the program will be on the flatter areas, and the second half will involve some small hills. Last year we had phenomenal conditions and were able to spot tracks of fox, otter, ruffed grouse, fisher, and others. Participants are welcome to attend the whole program, or depart after the section which is in the lower areas.

Date: Saturday, March 11, 2023 (weather date Sun 3/12)
Time: 1:00 PM - 2:30 PM
Meeting Place: Westminster West School
Registration: Please emailwestminstervtconservation@gmail.comto register.
