Last day and Graduation is here!
Hello JMOS parents and caregivers-
We made it! The last week of school is here! Most importantly our 8th-grade graduation will be this week. In a few days, I will send all families a Zoom "webinar" link. Holding the graduation in this virtual format will allow the graduates and other speakers to be featured. Parents and any parents who send the link to (aunts, uncles, grandparents, friends, up to 500!) will be able to "sit in the audience" and watch the graduation. We are trying to keep items that make our graduation special like the slide show, music, student speeches, and trail names still part of the show! The Zoom graduation will begin at 3pm, then at 5pm there will be a grad parade! Please see flyer and map below! Please line the parade route and cheer them on!
I want you to know I have been spending a lot of time with district administrators and our acting Superintendant, Steve Retzlaff, discussing and planning next year. Parent voice is very important to us! Look for a survey this coming week. I also thank those of you who have reached out directly to me to let me know what will and will not work for your family when it comes to schooling through COVID.
Reminders:
- Yearbooks are in and they are beautiful! JUNE 3rd will be the day to turn in any school items (library books, math textbooks, gear) in return for picking up your yearbook. Please do your best to have ALL items returned this day and to pick up your yearbook. Due to the limitations of my schedule and Laura's ability to be in the building, this is the day we have planned for us to be in the building helping to assist with this return/pick up. The office will be open from 8:30-4:30.
- In order for us to plan and prepare for graduation and end of the year pack up, the last day of school (Distance Learning for All) will be June 3rd.
- If you have technology checked out from our tech department, please look for a separate email from them that was sent out last Friday regarding where, when, and how to return the technology. It is VERY important all technology is returned so it can be inventoried and upgraded.
- At this point in time, we do not know if we will be offering in-person summer school until June 30th. If you want to receive updates about this possibility, please let me know.
With hope-
Rebecca
