Husky Happenings
January 29 - February2
A word from Mr. Martin
When I stand in front of staff and talk about our students, I use the words, “students are kinder than they have ever been.” Our students are more tolerant and more conscious of other students in need. While students have changed throughout my career, the changes I see are positive. Thank you for sending your students to our school, and I promise our school will create a positive and safe school environment.
Last week, I attended a Principal’s conference at Pitt State University. The focus was social media. One new dimension that faces our students is the use of social media. Please monitor your students access and devices. Daily we address situations where students access technology and make choices that are negative. We share all that we learn with parents, and every conversation includes the phrase, “monitor your students access and devices.”
Please be aware that TRMS is a neighbor. We have a community on Maple street that shares a public street with us. Please do not block drives. It is frustrating when you leave your home and are not able to access your street because ‘your neighbor’ is blocking the drive. Remember, my preference is to utilize the school drop off. I have allocated staff and monitor that process for our students’ safety. Quite frankly, we spend a lot of our time making sure our students are safe. I do not monitor the Maple street drop off.

Hand washing is the easiest and best way to prevent the spread of germs when done correctly! Make sure your students are using good hygiene techniques and emphasize hand washing at school and home to help prevent the spread of illness.
