Lowell Padlet Challenges: Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.
Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. said, "Life's most persistent and urgent question is, 'What are you doing for others?'" Help your child(ren) share a way he or she has helped others or a way that someone else has helped him or her on our Padlet wall by clicking the link below this article.
Thanks, too, to everyone who shared their learning and fun on our Winter Break Padlet wall, too! The winner of our $10 Scholastic dollar drawing is Zach W. in 3rd grade. Congrats, Zach!
Do you have or know a 2015-16 Kindergarten student? Save the date for Kindergarten Round-Up: March 3 @ 6:30 p.m.
New to the Nest: Kari LaPointe
Please be sure your child dresses for the weather as temperatures drop, as we are outdoors for recess if the wind chill is above 0. Be sure to label cold weather gear with your child's name.

Come one, come all to the Lowell Jamboree!
Friday, February 27, 2015
5:00pm to 8:00pm
Jamboree is a carnival-themed fun fair for the whole family and is one of the most popular school events of the year. Come and join us for games, prizes, food, music, and friends! This year will again feature some of last year’s exciting additions: New games! An artists’ studio! Even a photo booth! We’re also bringing back favorites from past years, including the DJ dance room, the Sweet Treats Walk, and face painting.
Here is how you can help NOW to make this night a success:
Raffle
Classroom Raffle Baskets and Teacher Time Baskets are currently being assembled. Your child’s teacher will be sending home information on their class basket theme. Please consider donating an item to include in your child’s class basket. We are also in need of large baskets to contain the items. Questions? Contact Laura Voress at lvoress@yahoo.com.
Prizes
A box has been placed in the office to collect any gently-used knick-knacks you might be willing to donate. Bouncy balls, Happy Meal toys, jelly bracelets, books, matchbox cars, stickers, pencils, party favors, last year’s Jamboree prizes --any little new or gently-used toys that you don’t mind parting with will be accepted throughout the month of January. These items will be re-distributed as prizes, saving Lowell money and saving the earth at the same time. Questions? Contact Brigid Coleman at brigidanncoleman@gmail.com.
Candy Grams
Candy Grams is currently accepting donations in the school office of any full-size candy items: chocolate bars, packages of gum, Skittles, Airheads, etc. Questions? Contact Beth Madiol at bethmadiol@aol.com.
More information, including ticket order forms and volunteer sign-up forms, will be coming home at a later date, so be on the lookout. This event could not succeed without the help of the whole school community—thanks for all that you do for Lowell School!
