PowerSchool
We ask all families to log onto PowerSchool to sign and review important forms:
There are three yearly consent forms: Technology Use, Field Trip, and Locker Use Agreement.
Also all families need to go into School Engage within PowerSchool. In this section you need to complete the 2018-2019 EICS Student Data Validation. This form is very important as it provides the school with the most accurate contact information, consent, and FOIPP. Please complete before Sept. 30.
School fees can be paid through your PowerSchool account on Rycor. If paying fees is a financial difficulty, you may be eligible for our fee waiver program, which is accessible online.
If you have any questions or are having trouble logging into your account or unsure if your forms are complete please contact the school office.

Keeping our school safe...Visiting the school Protocol
We also would like to kindly ask parents to wait outside at the doors for your children to be dismissed. Our halls become far too congested to have and extra bodies at the end of the day and students are working hard to learn routines. Thank-you for your cooperation and assistance with ensuring JV is a safe place for all students.
Like a Good Neighbour!
Parking
Always keep parking lot rules and safety at the forefront of any driving decisions you make in and around our school community. Every child deserves the utmost care and safety we can provide. Taking a few extra and cautious moments can make the difference and while some of the rules can seem over the top, preventing a serious accident or tragedy is the priority.
As we have more staff this year, parents are not permitted to park in the staff parking lot on the west side of the building. Do not drop off or pick up students from this parking lot. Parking is available up and down the street on Georgian Way.
Pick up is at 3:14 p.m. Students are to meet their parents outside the school. There is no supervision for students after 3:24 p.m. Please pick up your children no later than 3:24 pm.
No Parking in the Drop Off Zone
Using the parking lot as a drop off area creates a traffic jam in and around the school communities. Please respect the signs, our students, and each other.
If there are no parking spots available, please do not use the driving lanes as a drop off spot, or waiting area. Consider parking along Georgian Way, in behind our school on Garnet Cres, or up along Glamorgan Drive. Parking along the streets, and in behind the school creates an opportunity to walk with your child and catch up on their day, while avoiding the stress of the parking lot.
We are an APPLE school!
Aligning with our Apple School philosophy and our EICS Nutrition Administrative Procedure, we ask that all parents and school staff ensure strategies are in place to foster the knowledge, skills, and attitudes that promote safe, healthy eating. We recognize that breaking bread is an important element of our faith community and there will be times where we come together to share food in a celebratory manner. At these times, we will try to serve choices from the Choose Most Often and Choose Sometimes categories.
For nutrition purposes and because of the complexity of allergies at our school, we have asked staff and parents to please not bring in any food from home for class distribution such as; birthday cupcakes. While we recognize the value of celebrating in this manner, our commitment to the health and safety of our students takes precedence. Thank-you for your understanding.

We are St. Sophia’s Ukrainian Catholic Parish… a community of over 250 members mostly residing in and around Strathcona County. This year is a very exciting time for our Parish as we have made the announcement to start development of a brand new church in Sherwood Park.
