Kindergarten and Third Grade visit RMH to drop off donations!
On Tuesday, our Kindergarten and Third Grade classes visited the new Ronald McDonald House at Central DuPage Hospital in Winfield, IL. Our Third Grade and Kindergarten classes, together with the Pre-K classes across the street, collaborated to run three successful businesses and raised over $600 to benefit RMH. With the money, we were able to purchase several items on their Bed Bath & Beyond wish list, including a new blender and food storage containers for their kitchen. Students and teachers dropped off the items, along with superhero masks for the children staying in the hospital, and they took a tour of the Ronald McDonald House. A reporter from the Daily Herald contacted Mrs. Nelson later that day and we are told there will be an article in the paper this week or next!
Rock n' Red Play-Doh
First Grade's Rock 'n' Red Playdough Business!
Our first graders created a playdough business for their second quarter leadership project. They introduced their Rock 'n' Red playdough at morning meeting and sent home flyers they made with the help of Baxter's mom. They put on a short skit, made headbands, created posters and made announcements over the PA to promote their product. In all, the first graders raised $120 in playdough sales to benefit St. Jude's Children's Hospital!
