*A NOTE FROM PRINCIPAL SCRIVO*
Earlier this year our students were invited to submit a writing piece to The Young American Poetry DIgest. Students that chose to participate submitted a Haiku poem that they wrote during their iCenter class time. We are so excited to announce that out of 214 students who submitted a well-formatted Haiku for publication in the book, 154 of those students received a letter back inviting them to participate.
The purpose of this National Schools Project is to encourage student writing and provide an audience for student poetry. Their goal is to encourage kids to be excited about writing!
Congratulations to all of our Scotch Students that participated and thank you to Miki Clemons for submitting the selections.
Continue to stay connected by celebrating Virtual Spirit Week with us. The school building may be closed, but we can still show our school spirit. Continue to share your student/s photos so we can post them in our weekly newsletter and show off our school spirit! Please email photo's to elizabeth.bain@wbsd.org. See below for more information.

When anyone engages online, it's essential that everyone behaves appropriately. West Bloomfield students and staff must comply with the Student Code of Conduct and Staff Handbook when it comes to communicating online. As a quick reminder, when you're online, be sure to:
- Use respectful behavior and language.
- Stick to appropriate topic discussions.
- Send only appropriate video transmissions.
- Use only appropriate icon, emoji, and avatar submissions.
- Wear school appropriate clothing if you are attending meetings via video.
- Be honest and do not plagiarize or copy others’ work -- in other words, use academic integrity.
- Not falsify information about yourself or impersonate others online.
When everyone remembers to act kindly, show consideration for others, and treat one another online as you wish to be treated in person, we'll all be able to focus on learning.
