IB Learner Profile for Parents
The Learner Profile strives to build global citizens and lifelong learners, challenging us all to be the best that we can be at home and school. As parents, using this language and terminology in the home can be a powerful way of reinforcing these ten personal attributes.
February IB Learner Profile Attribute: Inquirer
Students who are INQUIRERS are curious about the world. They can conduct research independently. They love learning and discovering new things and will carry this love of learning with them throughout life. How can parents help to develop students who are Inquirers at home?
- Encourage areas of your child’s interest by visiting the library to borrow books that explore these topics.
- Develop an understanding of the Internet. Work with your son or daughter when the Internet is being used and try to instill the understanding that some Internet sites are not reputable.
Model being an inquirer. Admit when you don’t know the answer to a problem or a question and seek out answers in front of your child.
IB in Action- Who We Are
Action, the core of student agency, is integral to the PYP learning process and to the program’s overarching outcome of international mindedness. Through taking individual and collective action, students come to understand the responsibilities associated with being internationally minded and to appreciate the benefits of working with others for a shared purpose (IBO).
After learning about animals, the PYP 2 students took action and adopted two cows from the Larson's Dairy Farm located in Okeechobee, Fl. The Discover Diary's “Adopt a Cow” program helps integrate real-world concepts into the classroom. The class receives photos, video updates, and activities throughout the school year that allow them to watch their calf grow and experience life on a dairy farm.
Without further ado, we would like to introduce our PYP adopted cows- Glenda & Cookie! They were both born in September and weight between 70-75 pounds.

Crayola Creativity Week
It's creativity week! The elementary school students at Boynton Beach joined this global movement to help celebrate their innate creative mindset. During their art class, students were able to bring their creative innovations to life by working on color, line, patterns, and specific styles of art.

Happy 100th Day of School at Boynton Beach!
Happy 101st Day of School- DALMATIAN STYLE!
The PYP 1 students at Boynton Beach celebrated the 101st day of school with a Dalmatian themed day. The activities revolved around the number 101 with math/science/ELA centers, arts & crafts, the 101 Dalmatians movie, and a Dalmatian-themed snack.
