Perry Panther Pride
"The Panther" sounds like a fantastic name and we hope everyone will visit the store to stuff the ballot box as they stuff the crepes in this unique contest.
PHS Students Tour Akron University
Appreciation is certainly extended to Mr. Jenkins (PHS - Dean of Students) and the several staff members who helped make this experience a reality. Also, we thank the personnel at the University of Akron for offering this opportunity to our students at no cost to any of those who attended.
Professional Development Day a Success
During our time at Perry High School, staff members learned about a resource called OTUS which provides access to an incredible amount of student testing data as we continue to look for trends to support each student's growth. Staff also gained some more in-depth knowledge regarding instructional approaches related to the Making Student Thinking Visible (MSTV) that will be a focus over the next two years. MSTV is designed to promote and encourage students to become more engaged in class discussions as they gain a deeper insight into the academic content being presented. Following each of these sessions, staff took time to meet within individual academic Departments to discuss an assortment of strategies and concepts related to supporting all of our students.
Appreciations is certainly extended to the many staff members who helped make this day a tremendous success. The collective talents of school and District personnel certainly were on display throughout the day. Presentations for the OTUS program (Mr. Merritt and Mrs. Warstler), MSTV session (Mrs. Daut, Mr. McDougal, Mr. Merritt, Ms. Reese, Mrs. Cantrell), and our Department Chairs were all well done and helped facilitate these professional discussions that occurred throughout the day. We look forward to furthering our efforts as we move forward with the 2018/19 academic year.
FinalForms Online System comes to Perry
We are excited to announce that Perry Local Schools has partnered with FinalForms, an online form and data management service that will be replacing our previous method of collecting paper forms for various situations. For instance, FinalForms may be used to allow families to complete documents related to Emergency Medical Authorization Forms, Acceptable use of Technology Agreement, classroom field trip permission forms, and Media Release forms. In addition to completing these documents online, documents and information related to athletics or extra-curricular participation may also be submitted electronically.
We are requesting that ALL parents of students at Perry High School begin to use the FinalForms online system. For those that have already registered with FinalForms due to athletics, you will not need to register again. Informational letters were sent home in August and families should have received an email notification from FinalForms. Once registered, parents will receive an account confirmation email from FinalForms and, at that time, families should click the link and follow the steps to login and access their student(s).
We appreciate everyone's assistance in streamlining our paperwork process at Perry Local Schools as we transition to this online format. If we can provide any further support or answer any questions, please feel free to contact the high school.
