October in Review
Thank you for another AWESOME month of school! Your children have been busy learning, continuing to being kind and caring humans, and having lots and lots of fun! I was lucky enough to spend time in each classroom and reading to them! We had fun with the Books, Kindness Starts with You by Jacquelyn Stagg and What Would Danny Do? by Ganit and Adir Levy. I was also very proud of our 5th graders as they presented their Science Projects to the school! They did an amazing job and I think we have quite a few scientists among us! We ended our month with a Crazy Halloween Celebration! What a fun afternoon filled with a GooseChase and a parade of the cutest and coolest kids I know!
Thank you for sharing you wonderful children with us each day and thank you for being our strong and supportive partner in helping your children reach their goals and feel success! Together the possibilities are endless!
Sincerely,
Mrs. Keri Johnson, Principal

Changes We Need to Know?
When you need to make a change in your child's end of the day routine PLEASE do so BEFORE 11:00 a.m. or earlier. If you are emailing teachers after this time we cannot guarantee that the message will be received before dismissal. If there is a special circumstance and a change needs to be made and it is after 11 am you NEED TO CALL THE OFFICE and speak with the school secretary to ensure the message is given to the classroom teacher. A change in bussing would have to go through the bus company. We are sorry for any inconvenience but this for the safety of our students.
PICK UP AND DROP OFF
To ensure the safety of our students, please drop off your child at the west end of the school (near the tennis courts), not in the bus lanes or school driveway. If you are coming to pick up your child at the end of the day, please wait for them by the school office. The school is locked during the day. Please use the buzzer system (which is to the right of the front door) to enter the building. By following these procedures, we can work together to ensure the safety of our students. If you are bringing your child in late or picking them up early, an adult must come into the office and sign them in/out. Please Respect the Orange Cones! Please do not drive around or over the cones. Thank you so much for keeping our students safe!
Dear Parents,
I hope this note finds you enjoying all the fun that fall brings! We completed our reading and math assessments the end of September and started Title l Reading services on October 7th. A letter was sent home the beginning of October to let you know that your child has qualified for services.
I wanted to touch base to let you know that I am available at Richmond Elementary Ext. 1111 or at schlangens@rocori.k12.mn.us. Please feel free to contact me if you would like to chat, have questions about Title, or would like to set up a time to meet.
Thank You!

ABSENTEEISM
Parents are asked to please call the school by 8:30 A.M. if your child will be absent from school that day. You are able to leave messages on the school answering machine during non-school hours. The school phone number is 597-2016 ext. 4. If you prefer, you may also send an email to the following: groetschd@rocori.k12.mn.us. Please send a note explaining the reason for the absence when your child returns to school. Please have end of the day plans made and explained to your child before they come to school. If there is a change in their schedule, then send a note to the classroom teacher. Please avoid calling at the end of the day, as it is difficult to get messages out to classroom teachers.
VISITORS TO OUR SCHOOL
All visitors entering the school need to buzz the button on the right wall of the front door to be entered. Upon entering, all visitors must report to the office and sign in and out. All ROCORI schools now have the RAPTOR VISITOR CENTER sign in system. If you are visiting the school, you will need to have your ID scanned and get a badge to wear during your visit.
