REQUIRED PD INFORMATION
- The REQUIRED PD IS A 4 HOUR COURSE: This is a change from my previous communication. This will give you time to try out these methods while you are in the course.
- Please take notes for later perusal (consider using OneNote)
- It does not need to be completed in one sitting
- I receive analytics on all courses (time, usage, date/time stamps on all submissions) please be mindful that you are able to do this from home as a courtesy of the district.
- Some of the information may be redundant (you received training in it last year), bear with us as we get ALL staff up to speed.
- Questions/Concerns please message me in Schoology, so that my email doesn't blow up. I will try to check daily (on weekdays).
- Once your course is completed, you will receive an electronic badge in Schoology for the Required Course and for each Elective Module that you complete.
- Discussion threads and submissions are PROFESSIONAL responses, with the same expectations we have for our own students.
1 REQUIRED PD + 3 ELECTIVE MODULES = 7 HOURS OF PD
ELECTIVE PD MODULES INFORMATION
- Each Elective Module is 1 hour of PD
- Only COMPLETED (submission required) will be given credit.
- You will receive a Schoology Badge once your submission is reviewed.
- Please go out of your comfort zone and do something you haven't done before. You have the opportunity to grow professionally and have been given choice in the matter, use it wisely.
- Schoology calendars have been updated with times that you can come in to work at the Middle School.
- At the top of the Elective Course is a discussion board to ask questions, comment, or let me know if a link is broken.
- Theory of two feet is applied. If you start a module and it isn't something that you think that you will be able to use, start a different one. Only completed modules will count for PD purposes.
- PLEASE READ ALL DIRECTIONS (EXPECTATIONS AND OBJECTIVES BEFORE STARTING A MODULE).
- Lastly, you can complete more than 3 courses! Print out your badges and post them on your door... a surprise for each teacher in each building that completes the most elective modules. Let's show our students that we are life-long learners, honing our craft while off for the summer!
