Brought to you by the Shepard Elementary PTA
From our Principal
Dear Shepard Families,
What an amazing time we all had at the Shepard PTA Spring Picnic and Color Run! It was so much fun to do a healthy fundraiser and to spend some time together enjoying the beautiful weather on Friday night. Many, many thanks to our Shepard PTA for organizing the Picnic and working with Coach Spangler, Coach Cox, and Coach Belcher to organize the Color Run. We also appreciate the hard work of the parent volunteers. We couldn’t have done it without you!
As we wind down to the end of the school year, I wanted to let you know that our rear carpool gate will remain locked until 2:30 PM each day. This will prevent non-school adults from driving through our back drive when children are at play on the play grounds and running on the track or in the fields. Also, we would like to ask you to let our front office know if your child will not be returning to Shepard Elementary in the fall. This helps us plan for classes for next school year. Thank you for your help in these matters!
Sincerely,
Kristin Bishop
A Note from Mr. Braden
Dear Shepard Families,
As we inch closer to Summer break, I wanted to take a moment to fill you in on my future plans.
My family and I have made the decision to move back to my hometown in Indiana this summer. I have accepted a position as an elementary assistant principal at the school my father went to when he was a kid. As you may know, my wife’s family is from South Florida and my family is from NW Indiana – we don’t have any family here. After our daughter got sick, some priorities in our life realigned. When she reached remission and we were finally able to take a deep breath, we realized that we NEEDED to live closer to family. My sister also lives there and she has 2 boys who I want to watch grow up.
I have ambitions of leading my own building one day but I have enjoyed this year SO much that I could stay here forever serving you and working for Mrs. Bishop. I have been so inspired by your daily devotion to your children and Shepard Elementary that waking up and coming to school is something I genuinely look forward to everyday. I appreciate the opportunity you all have given me. You guys will keep pushing this thing forward and will reach the highest goals imaginable. I know that for a fact.
It truly has been a pleasure serving your families and the staff here at Shepard Elementary.
Sincerely,
Ben Braden

We have had a few school supply order issues where folks have been unable to access the order form. Please make sure you are logged into your account on shepardpta.org and if you still can’t see the order form, try scrolling to the bottom of the page and clicking the “join PTA” picture. For some reason we are seeing some folks having no problems and others unable to see the form. Our troubleshooting has yeilded no solution. We are so sorry for any inconvenience or frustration.
