Remote Learning Option: Deadline Extension
As you are aware, Ankeny Schools is offering families a remote learning option. Please view an overview document detailing the remote learning option here.
Yesterday, Governor Reynolds announced new metrics by which schools are suggested to move between learning models (onsite, hybrid, and remote). As a result, we want to give parents one more extension to consider their choice of a remote learning option. Ankeny Schools is extending the Remote Learning Option Form deadline through Wednesday, August 5.
To request your child(ren) receive remote learning through Ankeny Community Schools, please complete this form by Wednesday, August 5. A link to the Remote Learning (Required Continuous Learning) Model can be found on page 8 of the Return to Learn plan. Unless a student’s personal health circumstances change in a meaningful way after the deadline for submission of this form (e.g. a student is diagnosed with a health condition that makes learning from home a better learning environment), the district will not be able to honor requests to select the “remote only” option after the deadline for submitting this form has passed.
Hybrid Schedule, Class Rosters, and Student Schedules
On Monday, August 3, after reviewing parent feedback, we will post the final version of our hybrid schedule on the district website and social media outlets. Additionally, building principals will include it in their back-to-school communications.
As we compile student remote learning requests and staffing needs, we are working to adjust our building sections and schedules accordingly. Due to the numerous factors contributing to our work, we will be sharing more detailed schedules the week of August 10.
