COVID-19 Update

The Board heard a COVID-19 update at its December 9 meeting.

COVID-19 community metrics have decreased since the November Board meeting, as the increase in cases post-Thanksgiving was not as large as anticipated.

Additionally, staff members testing positive for COVID-19 during the Adaptive Pause period are at the same level as when school was in session. Paired with contact tracing information, this data shows that our schools are not the source of most COVID-19 infections.

Due to this information, District 15 intends to resume in-person learning after Winter Break on Tuesday, January 5. We ask that families who travel for the holidays voluntarily quarantine for two weeks (or revised quarantine lengths based upon IDPH guidance) upon returning home. Concurrent learning will be available to in-person students needing to stay home through Friday, January 15. After that date, concurrent instruction will only be available to in-person students who are in quarantine due to illness or exposure.

Information on how to request concurrent instruction from January 5-15 will be shared with families prior to school resuming in January.

Return to In Person Learning on 1 - 5 -21 Information

Lincoln is ready to welcome back students who chose In Person Learning on Tuesday, January 5, 2021. This start date applies to those families who committed to In Person Learning and those students who were previously Virtual and were approved to return to In Person learning. Those that committed to Virtual Learning will continue as usual from home. For those students who are live streaming due to being quarantined, this will also begin on Tuesday. Please know that our staff continues to work hard to make sure our campus is clean and safe for your children. We have worked closely with CCSD15 Administration, our Health Services Coordinators, and our Facilities and Operations teams to make sure Lincoln School is following all safety protocols. Please make sure your child has their "Self Certify Card" signed and dated by a parent each day. The school can provide a lanyard if needed. Make sure your child is wearing a mask that covers the nose and mouth and send extra masks. Parents may park and walk their child to their assigned door, but parents are not permitted into the building at this time to go to classrooms. Temperatures are taken at arrival and hands will be cleaned. Parents may use the Farmgate loop for drop off. If your child enters at Door 6 or Door 9, they may use the grassy area by the picnic tables in the Farmgate loop and walk to the right around the building to get to their door. (Use the grassy area, not the lot to walk to the back doors.) We hope you understand we need to follow our safety protocols on building visitors. Rest assured we will take excellent care of your children. Please don't hesitate to call if you have any concerns or questions. 847.963.5700
