Week of January 30, 2023
Notes for the Upcoming Week
Mid-trimester is Monday, January 30th. Progress reports will be available for parents and guardians to view on Tuesday, February 7th. If you need assistance with your parent portal login, please contact the main office.
February paper calendars will be sent home with students on Wednesday, February 1st.
February 1st begins Black History Month. Our students will enjoy a Young Audience assembly titled, "No Mystery in Black History" by Queen Nur.
Our Lift Club students are sponsoring an animal shelter donation drive. Donations are being accepted February 1st through 10th. See the flyer below for more information. The students are also holding a pretzel sale with donations to benefit local shelters.
Thank you for your participation in The Great Kindness Challenge. Our students and staff certainly spread kindess throughout the week. We know kindness inspires kindness, so we hope to keep the random acts flowing throughout February.
Please ask your Samuel Mickle student(s) about their School Sidekick activity with a Jeffrey Clark partner homeroom(s). Last week, these fun activities provided our SMS students with a wonderful opportunity to be positive role models to the Jeffrey Clark students. Thank you to our staff for your efforts to make these activities fun and engaging for all!

During the Hornet Glow Run, students will participate in running laps, themed laps, walking laps, and dancing walks led by the Booster Team! This will end up being 35 minutes of physical activity. Students can SHARE their donation page to get donations from friends & family for every one of those minutes. ($1 per minute = $35 to help our schools!). Fun Fact: Once a donation is made, sponsors can see if their corporation has a donation matching program to maximize your generosity to our schools.
