Great work on our data digging on Monday and integrating what you have reflected on in your plans for the week. Some questions to ask yourself....
- In 6th grade, we had 17 students in Math go from proficient to developing...why and who were they? What is the plan for remediation?
- In 7th grade, we lost three scholars out of distinguished in MATH. Why? Who are they? What is the plan?
- In 8th grade, we lost four students out of proficient in MATH, who are they and what can we do?
Teams: We will meet Monday to discuss these students and the scholars who dropeed in reading. We will review and create individual plans to get these scholars back, at least, in the ALD band they started at in the fall.

SHOUT OUTS!
- To Ms. Meeks and Mr. Brown for keeping my math classes rolling while I was out on leave!
- To Brie Jarrell for coming to class every single day ready to tackle everything we are learning in math!
- To Ms. Meltzer-For sitting down with our ELA teachers during planning to help them learns the in's and out's of USA Test Prep. Any time I ask her for help with something, she is always willing!
- To Alana Diaz-She has made herself responsible for my chromebook cart at the end of the day. She makes sure that all chrome books are in the correct slot and plugged in. I love that I don't even have to worry about whether everyone has turned in their chromebook because she will fuss at them before I do!
- To Mrs. Jersey for really doing some amazing life skills activities with her students. She gives them opportunities that they would never get outside of BCMS!!
- To Ariel Chavez-Teran for crushing his Math MAP. He went from a 201 SP18 to a 229 SP19!! That’s straight from a beginning learner to a PROFICIENT learner!!
- To all the teachers who had late bus duty yesterday!
- To Connections teachers for making break run seamlessly.
- To Presley C. for helping peers in GA History yesterday.
- To Mr. Collins for working on our field trips. They would not be successful without the time and effort that he puts in to planning and making contacts for things to run smoothly.
- To Eliza Tyson for crushing her Reading MAP. She went from a 199 WI18 to a 222 SP19!! She went from a beginning learner to a PROFICIENT learner!!
- To Mr. Herndon for being my baseball boys #1 fan on and off the field! He has made it to almost every game home and away and is helping to make sure they are staying on top of things in the classroom!
- To Mrs. KP she is the lunch duty QUEEN! She rocks!
- To Mr. Dinkin’s for handling the break area for 6th and 7th grades yesterday!
- To Allen Williams for being the best peer tutor ever! Everyone always asks him when they have a question and he always takes the time to explain it as many times as he has to until they get it.
- To Kat for being the Testing Scheduling Queen!
- To KP for being at almost every athletic event and taking pictures of our scholar-athletes.
- To Blaine and Adams for killing it on the baseball, what a big step up from years past!!! Also, to Ms. Beasley for her support with our ESS students and Mr. Sikes for helping big time with discipline...

#SoManyBooksTesting season is in full swing! While we need the data to help us stay on course and ensure that our scholars are learning, we need to find a healthy balance when discussing and preparing our scholars for the test!
We do not want them to feel more pressure or more anxious about the testing! It is our job to continue to love them and support them and encourage them! This article gives some tips on how to continue to create a loving, exciting environment while helping and making sure our scholars do their best and take the test seriously.
We have some encouraging and exciting things planned for GMAS to help them take a deep breath and to focus on what they know! They will do great! We will have them ready~
Wait until you see this bulletin board!
Understanding the buckets and how to WIN at GAPS is our focus! Targets are set!
