Sam Houston

Leader of the Texan army

Born March 2nd 1793. Died July 26th 1863. Sam Huston will never be forgotten for his bravery and heroics.

Early Life

Sam Huston was born in Rock-bridge County, Virginia and was the son of Major Samuel Houston and Elizabeth Paxton. During his first several years in Ireland, he immigrated with his family in 1735 where they settled in Pennsylvania. A little after, he lived a happy life until his soldier age when he married 3 wives and a few kids.

As a soilder

As a solider, he had allied with Andrew Jackson who helped themselves along their journey to perform great feats. On October 2nd 1835, Texan rebels in Gondolas fired upon Mexican soldiers who have been sent to retrieve a cannon from Gondolas. He ousting was concerned about Texas' separation from Mexico at the time. After that there was the Battle of the Alamo. A very troubling time for all Texans. Afterwards Houston survived and finally defeated Santa Anna's army in the battle of Goliad.
