Note from the President

Thank you to the neighbors that were able to attend the Annual Meeting on February 27th. It was nice seeing everyone. The last phase of the pool improvement project has started and should be completed by the end of March. Over the next several months we are planning on having a community work day and would love to see as many people as possible. We have received such positive feedback on the Princeton Lake Newsletter and I would like to thank Carolyn Cooper for all her hard working putting these newsletter together.

Princeton Lakes Easter Egg Hunt

Sunday, March 25th, 4-5pm

Princeton Lakes Clubhouse

Please come out and join us for a fun afternoon at the clubhouse for the annual Princeton Lakes Easter Egg Hunt! There will be 2 separate egg hunts, one for the little kids (ages 0-pre-K) and another for the big kids (K-5th grade). There will also be a special appearance by the Easter Bunny – don’t forget your camera!


To Participate:


  • Fill 12 plastic eggs for EACH child with child’s age group marked on the bag. Treats can include wrapped candy, stickers, or a small toy. Please tape eggs shut to prevent opening.
  • Drop off the eggs to Erin Searles at 4597 Karls Gate Drive by Saturday, March 24th (there will be a box by the front door).



Details:


  • The Easter Bunny will be available for pictures from 4:00-4:25 p.m.
  • The egg hunt begins at 4:30 p.m.
  • There will be drinks and snacks, games, chalk, bubbles and coloring pages in the parking lot and picnic area. We will also have a “Guess The Number of Jelly Beans” contest from 4:00-4:25 p.m., with winner receiving the container of jelly beans!
  • Please have your children collect only 12 eggs during the hunt. Once everyone has collected 12 eggs, they can hunt for any remaining eggs.
  • Bring a basket in which your child can collect his/her eggs.
  • In the event of rain, the Easter Bunny will be in the clubhouse for pictures and all children will be given 12 eggs.

Princeton Lakes Graduation Banner 2018


We are compiling a list of all the Princeton Lakes 2018 high school and college graduates for the banner that will be displayed at the entrance to the neighborhood. Please click HERE and complete the information below by Monday, April 9th, 2018. (Lake Fjord has had a separate banner displayed at their entrance the past few years.)

HOA Annual Dues

Invoices for the Annual HOA dues were mailed out directly from Riverside Property Management to all Princeton Lakes HOA members at the end of February. If you are a non-resident member (i.e. Lake Fjord) and do not receive an invoice to renew your membership within the next week, please email president@princetonlakes.net.



Please remember that HOA dues should be paid by April 1st to remain in good standing.

Annual Meeting Recap

The annual meeting was held on February 27, 2018, at 7:00 pm in the Princeton Lakes Clubhouse. The meeting was called to order by the HOA President, Mark Paulsen. Quorum to conduct official business was established with 39 proxy votes and 19 members present. HOA Board members present were: Mark Paulsen, Jim Skinner, Carolyn Cooper, Lisa Kaht, Phil Lainey, Erin Searles, Christy Jones, Stephen Patrick, and Jim Skinner.


Mark Paulsen, President: Welcomed the members and discussed the many landscape and pool improvements that took place over the past year. The neighborhood is hot right now - featured in Atlanta Magazine as one of only 2 top neighborhoods OTP! Home prices are up and listed homes are moving fast. The repairs to the flooded clubhouse were discussed. The HVAC in the clubhouse was also replaced. He then turned it over to each board member.


Jim Skinner, Vice-President: Recapped pool improvements, future fence improvements along Princeton Lakes Drive, and landscape maintenance. The tree removal and limb removal around the neighborhood after the snow storm was a big success.


Phil Lainey, Grounds: The HOA saved a ton of money by involving the members to help with landscape projects such as pine straw, rock bed for drainage, and removal of the large tree by the dam. It was also fun to see the community involvement vs. paying a professional. Looking ahead, we would like to connect the sidewalk across the dam. We will continue to have community involvement days for grounds projects.


Carolyn Cooper, Secretary: Recapped the commitment for better communication via neighborhood Facebook page, newsletters, and email. Residents should join the Facebook group and verify that their email address is correct on the website in the resident database to make sure that they receive updates.


Stephen Patrick, Pool: We have done major pool improvements and repairs this year. The pool decking was resurfaced and major repairs were made to the pool pump. The pool coating/resurfacing is set to begin soon. We were in good financial shape to cover the maintenance items without an assessment. Stephen requested that Swim Atlanta do a life cycle study on the current condition of the pool for proper budget forecasting. We will be installing new signage by the pool with the address of the clubhouse/pool and are looking into adding an AED unit. Stephen provided an analysis of the future pool costs. Discussion was had regarding repairs and life of the brass pump that was installed during last pool renovation. Thank you to Stephen for negotiating big savings with Swim Atlanta and on the pool decking quote.


James Cooper, Tennis: We will look into replacing the wind screens this year.


Erin Searles and Christy Jones, Social: The social committee is always looking for new volunteers - it's a great way to become involved in the neighborhood. They discussed changing up TGIF events this summer. Some ideas were: Food Truck Fridays, Screen on the Green Fridays, and Fire Pit Fridays.


Lisa Kaht, Community Affairs: Discussed the closing of local restaurants. Permanently closed is Muss & Turners. Chick-fil-A will be closed for major renovations and McDonalds lobby is closed for renovations.


Mark Paulsen, President: Mark covered the financials for Spalding White, Treasurer. The dues were raised by $22 to aid in the building of reserves. Spalding has done a great job of budgeting/simplifying. There are not many homes left that aren't members of the HOA, so we won't be receiving many more of those joining fees.
