This Week in Kindergarten
It was another busy week for your child! In reading we explored pattern text and learned how to spot those repeating phrases that we can read! We also wrote our own pattern text stories and practiced reading those. We continued to work on writing letters and recognizing sounds that each letter makes. By the end of next week your child should know all 26 letters, upper and lower case, and their sounds. If your child has trouble with this, a little practice time at home will make a huge difference! In math we finished our introduction of teen numbers. Please practice identifying, writing, and counting objects to 20. We are also working on learning our address, city, county, state, country, and continent. This is hard!! Please practice at home.
It's Apple Time!
Please have your child bring an apple to school Monday, September 21. We want to have a variety of apple colors and types to graph and make into applesauce.
Fall Conferences
Next week is fall conferences! I am looking forward to talking with you about your child's progress so far. Please think ahead of any specific questions you might have and jot them down. Conferences run every 20 min. and i will do my best to stay on track!
