Irmo Elementary Family Updates
#HeartoftheHive #BetterTogether June 7-11
A Note From Your Principal
Dear IES Families,
We are so excited for upcoming celebrations as we enter our final weeks of the 2020-2021 school year. A few of these include our drive through parade and graduation/recognition for our 5th grade students. At IES, we always repeat "Once a bee, always a bee!" and we are not saying goodbye to our 5th grade bees but rather "See you soon!". We are continuing to celebrate our Students of the Month for honesty and state testing is officially complete. Thank you for your never ending support during a global pandemic and always. There is no other place like the heart of the hive!

Please read all of the information in this letter carefully to understand School District Five’s end of year procedures for district devices.
Students in grades K-12 returning to any D5 school for 2021-22 will keep their district issued device over the summer. If the device is damaged during the summer, students should complete the Chromebook Repair Form for their current school.
Graduating Seniors and students moving out of District 5 must turn in device, case, and charger according to the collection schedule below or a bill will be sent for the full replacement price.
Per District Mobile Device Agreement, the district will cover one (1) accidental damage incident during the 2020-2021 school year (August 1, 2020 - July 31, 2021). In order to be considered for 2020-2021 coverage, incidents should be reported via the school’s Chromebook Repair Form by July 31, 2021. Any accidental damage reported after this date will be classified as part of the 2021-2022 school term.
If the device currently has any issues or damages, please do not wait until the end of the year or collection time to notify the school’s help desk. During collection, the device will be evaluated for damages and the student will be billed accordingly.
Possible charges:
Device - up to $300
Case - up to $35
Charger - up to $40
Damaged devices will be reviewed by the Technology Services Department. Parent will be notified if charges are necessary.
Costs are assessed based on replacement price which is dependent on age and model of device and charger.

FIVE Virtual Weekly Update:
Hello IES FIVE family,
Good afternoon, I hope this message finds you doing well as we begin bringing our school year to an end with our last full week in FIVE. This week, we will be completing our May students of the month and we look forward to seeing your students in their virtual classrooms as we celebrate them for exemplifying quality character. Please note, we will have numerous communications released this week discussing 5th grade graduation, senior walk, IES Virtual Bridge Day, and the 5th grade car parade/tunnel of love how these events will look for our FIVE students. Please look for school communications and communication from your teachers about these awesome opportunities for our students. Please do not hesitate to ask any questions that you may have about these events once those communications are released. Finally, thank you all for the amazing help and support that you have been as we completed all standardized testing for the year. We greatly appreciate all that you did to help make testing run smoothly. Have a great week in FIVE and please let me know if there is anything I can do to make the end of the school year great!
Sincerely,
Jason Bebber
