4. The form must be complete (department chair signature included) before it will be accepted.

End of First 6 Weeks
- At the end of the first 6 weeks, counselors and administrators will partner to divide and conquer our list of students who are failing courses. We begin by meeting with those students failing the most classes. At that time, we will notify parents of tutoring and Parent Portal resources as well.
- At the same time, our academic specialist, Faith Novotny, our strategists in Special Ed, and our team leader for ESOL students, Juli Pantleo will review failing students and determine next appropriate steps for their students in lieu of counselor/admin action. In the event that a support plan for one of these students (504/CMIT/ESOL/SpEd) is not working, the support person may call a meeting to discuss next level interventions or may partner with you on how best to support the student in your class.
- For students in 504/CMIT, it is imperative that the accommodations listed are implemented and that you are documenting steps you are taking to support a struggling learner. We are not able to advance from one RTI (Response to Intervention) level to another without documentation that the assigned supports are not working.
Parent Teacher Conference Day, Oct. 18
- Each teacher is expected to hold 10 parent conferences.
- Scheduled conferences will be shared with Kay Ellis who will maintain a campus shared calendar so that multiple teachers may join a scheduled meeting around one student. Please expect additional email communication directly from Kay.
- The ten conferences should happen on the conference day; however, you may hold conferences during the two weeks leading up to Oct. 18th that will count toward your ten. Conferences may begin as early as Oct. 4th.
- Conferences that cannot be scheduled prior to 3:00 pm should be scheduled on an alternate day. You will want to be able to leave on time.
- When not in a conference on the 18th, you will spend that time communcating with parents regarding your students: positive phone calls, emails, etc.
- You are invited to lunch! Our admin team will serve lunch in the Plaza Marquez from 12:00-1:00 on that same day, so you will want your schedule to accommodate your lunch time :0). Thank you, Ms. Theodore, for this great idea!!
