RBHS BRIDGE Communication
Rock Bridge High School Newsletter: September 19, 2021
Mission: Rock Bridge High School is a community in which ALL students and staff inspire each other to become lifelong learners.
Hello Rock Bridge Families!
We would like to thank you for a wonderful first 4 weeks of school this year! Last week we had our first Interim Progress Report (IPR), and you should be able to see your grades in Home Access. All official grades for in person Rock Bridge High School classes will be found in Home Access Center. Schoology may also have grades, assignments, and assessments; but Schoology is not our official gradebook. You can access official grades through the Parent Portal by finding the icon for Home Access Center. This is the same Parent Portal you used to register your student for this school year.
If you have any questions about the grades you see in Home Access, please talk with your student first. If you still have questions, you should reach out directly to teachers for clarification. This IPR came very early this year. There were only 3 weeks of instruction and limited chances for assessment of student knowledge acquisition. The IPR is only a snapshot of a moment in time and nothing that is on a transcript. In many instances, student grades have already changed from this report. This is the nature of a progress report. We are constantly working to assess, and re-assess, student mastery of the academic content.

RBHS Tutoring Center (Room 334)
9th graders are able to access this assistance during the second half (45 minutes) of their Advisory class period. They can also use their time in Advisory to seek assistance from their 9th grade peers, Advisory Mentor, and their Advisory Teacher.
10th, 11th, and 12th graders are able to access the Tutoring Center during the first 45 minutes of their AUT. Please speak with your student and remind them that their AUT is the perfect time to get assistance with academics.
PTSA
Parent Drop-off and Pick-up at Rock Bridge
Rock Bridge Families, getting in and out of our school at the beginning or end of day can be a challenge. Please read the following so you can assist in making this process as smooth as possible for all RBHS stakeholders.
Parent Drop-off
Morning drop off should occur at the East Circle Drive. This is the same location that bus drop off will be occurring. Parents dropping off their students should remain in the left lane of the circle drive. Busses will be asked to remain on the right at this time.
Parent Pick-up
Following the conclusion of the school day, parent pick up will occur at the South Parking Lot. It is common for there to be considerable congestion in all entries and exits at the end of our school day. Please consider picking up your child after our busses have exited the circle drive at 4:15. After 4:15 you can pick your child up at any location on the RBHS property. Please do not park in the Corporate Lakes area while you are waiting to pick up your student. This is not RBHS property. These businesses have asked that we not take up their customer parking. Thank you!

October 5th Clarification
Dear RBHS Seniors –
On Tuesday, October 5th Rock Bridge will be giving the ACT to all Seniors who did not receive the District Voucher for the April or June test last spring. If you received a voucher from the district, you are ineligible to take the ACT on Oct. 5th, even if you did not use the voucher. Click on the link below titled "Seniors and October 5th, 2021" for more details.
Dear Bruin Freshmen Families –
On Monday September 13th, you received an email regarding off-campus learning opportunities for Freshmen based on testing happening in the building on October 5th. Since that email was sent, the District has made the decision to change the testing schedule. We will now be giving only the Senior ACT on Oct. 5th which means that all underclassmen, including Freshmen, will attend school as usual on October 5th.
Rock Bridge offers a variety of ways for students to participate in experiential learning during high school, and we encourage all students to take advantage of those opportunities sometime before graduating. Advisory lessons during the weeks of Sept. 20th and 27th will include Career Exploration and students will be introduced to the various opportunities available to them at Rock Bridge. If your student has any questions, please encourage them to talk to their counselor.
Sincerely,
The Rock Bridge Counseling Office
