Teacher of the Year ~ Ms. Kayla Dickerson
I graduated from McNeese State University in May 2017 with a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education. I am certified in the following areas: Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education: Grades 1-5, Special Education (Mild/Moderate): Grades 1-5. I have taught at Vinton Elementary for a total of six years. My first year at Vinton Elementary I taught 5th grade Math and Science. For the last five years I have taught high minute Resource within multiple grade levels. I have wanted to be a teacher since I was in 3rd grade. I went two semesters for nursing at McNeese before I decided to follow my heart which was in education. I wake up every day and look forward to coming to school to see all my students. My favorite part of teaching is being able to show children that they are capable of so much more than they realize. I teach the same way I parent, with high expectations, routine, and structured fun.
