What is the Harlem Renaissance?
The Harlem renaissance was the blossoming of African Americans and there culture. Not only did they embrace literary, visual, and theatrical arts but they also embraced the relationship to their heritage.
Political Changes:
18th amendment (1917) - the prohibition of alcohol
19th amendment - (women's suffrage) women's right to vote.
at the end of the american civil war era increased education and job opportunity for black Americans.
