From Ms. Anne
Our classrooms turned into vibrant, living history museums with Mystery History, and we had the best turnout ever at Trunk or Treat. Our PTA puts on a fabulous Trunk or Treat; many thanks to everyone who decorated a car, donated time to set up/take down, or donated treats.
It's been a long time in the making, but we are excited to bring you this newsletter in our new format and hope you enjoy it!
The next few weeks look to be just as busy with concerts, the Dewey's Dash celebrations, and more! Please note the upcoming Veterans Day concert/assembly Mr. Tyler is hosting, and keep an eye on the volunteer page of the website for more opportunities to help with all the upcoming excitement.
Parent Ed Night November 10
We know you have a lot of choices when it comes to picking a school for your child - either for middle school or other key transitional years. Come join members of the MPA community for a potluck meal (doors open at 5:30, dinner at 5:45), followed by a “fireside chat” panel on “Montessori for Life.” (6:30-7:15) and hear from folks who chose Montessori after preschool, fifth grade, or beyond; you'll also hear from former Montessori students themselves.
Please RSVP for this event so that we can accommodate everyone who wants to come. Childcare for children who are MPA students will be provided; RSVP required. https://forms.gle/8f26ZBnwYGyvRA876
Veterans Day Concert
To honor our veterans, our students will be performing a vocal concert of the theme songs from each of our military branches on November 11 at 8:45 a.m. The ukulele band and choir are joining them, and upper EL students will give short presentations. Parents are invited to attend. If you or any loved ones are veterans, we'd love to have you as our special guests and show our gratitude for your service.
From the Health Room
Respiratory illnesses are on the rise, and many of them have symptoms that mirror Covid-19. RSV in particular has been in the news lately. Please know that we are following the state health department's and JeffCo's policies regarding tracking and reporting and will notify you if there is an outbreak here at MPA. Schools are to treat respiratory illnesses as Covid-19 until it's been ruled out. If your child has a cough, fever, or any other respiratory symptoms, please keep them home and notify us of any positive tests. Students should not return to school until they are fever-free for 24 hours and their symptoms are gone or greatly improved.
Car Line
Thank you to all who help keep our staff safe by refraining from cell phone usage and driving at low speeds while in car line. Our staff weaves in and out of lanes of traffic to bring your precious cargo right to your door; we appreciate your attentiveness and safe driving.
Please remember to post the name card of your child/teacher in the passenger window or passenger side of the windshield; this helps us spot you sooner so that we can have your children on their way to you quicker.
Lockdown Drill
Volunteering & Donations
Coffee or tea aficionados, we always welcome donations of K-cup style beverages; our staff and volunteers are both caffeinated and decaffeinated on a daily basis, and stock can run low at times. Thank you!
Check with your teacher about donating pet food; many of our classrooms have a pet, and while they don't enjoy coffee or tea, they do love to eat!
